Peter, imprisonment does not and never has deterred crime (except it’s more difficult to commit crime whilst inside). No matter what anyone says, it is a punishment and rarely rehabilitation or deterrent. To think otherwise is at best naive.

I am a pro ‘re-joiner’ but let’s get real, the economy is in tatters and attempting to re-join now would only be under the most stringent conditions (Even if the EU wanted us back). First we have to repair the damage the Tories did and then put in a reasonable bid. To do so now would be madness.

Thanks to the Tories the country is almost bankrupt so hard choices need to be made. What’s the priority waiting list or doctors pay? I know increase doctors pay and let people in pain on waiting lists suffer longer and a few die!!! Of course we could tap into the Tory money tree.
