"This is what we were voting for!" From a friend in academia: >>I was with a public health professor from [major university] last weekend and he said that NIH is now euthanizing whole cohorts of animals from animal studies because there is nobody around to feed them<< Great work.

I remember after 9/11 when folks would say things like, "we should just nuke the whole region." Terrorist attacks succeed when they turn you into a monster. The terrorists can point at you and say, "See? They are who we said they were."

If you do in fact want Covid boosters for yourself or anyone, you can submit public comment to the FDA here: www.regulations.gov/commenton/FD...

There is not a single congressional district in the U.S. where more than 15% of voters support cuts to SNAP, the federal program that provides food assistance to millions of low-income Americans.

A common argument Republicans will make for why we should be allowed to commit atrocities against Palestinians is that it is not democratic, it harbors terrorists, and women are treated terribly. It's not about values -- it's about power and economic interests.

What Slotkin is not telling you is that she voted to confirm Noem. The Democratic party is not failing to stand up to Trump. To fail would imply that they're trying.

NEWS: These filings allege the Trump administration has *already* sent flights to South Sudan in violation of an existing preliminary injunction.

So stupid

Julia Whelan is such a good audiobook narrator.

Least surprising thing I've seen all day.

We now call the things my kid builds at Lowe's kid crafts "Construction solutions". If you know, you know.

Too real

Yeah, they're evil. Though if the actual citizenship process was televised, I'd imagine the sympathy for immigrants would skyrocket among the average American...

Ben of Ben & Jerry’s *arrested* after confronting RFK Jr. & Congress: "They need to let food into Gaza. They need to let food to starving kids! Congress is paying to bomb poor kids in Gaza, and paying for it by kicking poor kids off Medicaid in the US!"

It’s almost as if effective advocacy and leadership, whether for good or evil, can shape public opinion, and it’s possible to work to frame issues instead of passively responding to the way the opposition frames them and accepting their characterization of what is “moderate.”

How did Andor get made? It feels like a minor miracle.

I challenge any supporter of Trump's immigration policy to read this and justify it. www.nytimes.com/2025/05/13/o...

Republicans still think they can control Trump. They all get burned eventually. He isn't an ideologue. He's an old White guy who wants money and power. And who is very much indebted to dictators and mobsters for getting him those things.

See this? It's called a non-inferiority trial. It compares the new vaccine with the current vaccines to see if the new vaccine does better. This new vaccine did. Placebo-controlled trials are not needed to test most new vaccines. Demanding them will only reduce vaccine access. Which is the point.

There will assuredly be natural disasters this summer, likely more than usual, and when that happens it is important to ask how the decisions President Trump is making now will worsen the loss of life when those disasters occur.

You know there are 1 billion microphones on that plane

Nobel Prize winning science.

Excellent piece on Miller on habeas. Far superior to the surprisingly both-sides-ish coverage by some media. What Miller is claiming the power to do isn’t questionable or dubious. It would be anti-constitutional usurpation. www.stevevladeck.com/p/148-suspen...

Look how hard that "reporter" tries to force this kid into their narrative. The kid doesn't fall for it.
