I wonder what percentage of Americans would say they'd like to be annexed by Canada. It's been a common sentiment since at least 2004, even though there's never been an offer.

Elon Musk Donald Trump says you have to call me and explain yourself, if not I will interpret it as an agreement to pay me $700 million

How did Musk get this scoop? Did someone in DOGE tell him? He should really cite his sources.

A route that was designed to go hundreds of miles out of its way to serve Republican parts of the state. It seems Trump has already forgotten that he has more voters there than in most red states.

Some voters seem to be motivated by a general disapproval of the "system" and saw both Obama and Trump as outsiders. Voting Republican is also seen a prestige marker. In 2008 some people felt they couldn't afford to vote Republican.

Sounds like they're overstaffed. They should cut funding, reduce staff, improve efficiency.

Yeah he might have thought this was all an edgy joke and now it's clicking that people are serious! He should feel afraid, needless to say. Setting himself up to be Ernst Rohm.

I'd like to hear him elaborate on that too. I suspect he means it's too open and flamboyant and they haven't consolidated enough power to alienate people yet.

I don't know which is worse, that we convinced ourselves in the 90s that American Spirits are healthy or that they're belatedly mad a cigarette doesn't have an evil enough aesthetic

In the US at least it's been a company that has advocated heavily against rail and public transit, which are far more sustainable than individual electric cars. Do you think it is ever ethical to boycott a company? Or that all boycotts are immoral?

It's unfortunate that so many people who probably think of themselves as "allies" see basic human rights as a purely aesthetic question.
