american masculinity is so amazing. caring about clothes as a man apparently makes you "gay" but our position on geopolitics totally depends on whether you wear a suit

KYIV INDEPENDENT: “It’s time to say it plainly. America’s leadership has switched sides in the war. The American people have not, and they should speak up.” kyivindependent.com/editorial-a-...

And to think we could have had a sane, serious government run by an intelligent person who would have acted in the best interests of Americans, and not Vladimir Putin.

Dana Milbank responds to the WaPo’s pivot to focusing on “personal liberties and free markets” with a piece *in the Post* calling Donald Trump “the single greatest threat to ‘personal liberties and free markets’ in the United States today”. 👏 [washingtonpost.com]

So that scene in the Oval Office, was that personal liberty or free markets? I guess I'll have to wait for the Washington Post editorial

Gene Hackman was proud of the fact Richard Nixon put him on the "enemies" list and I think we can honor him and whatever joy his career has given you by living our lives in such a way that evil people know our names and think of us as enemies.

"We don't want to think that we are confronting evil now because it seems melodramatic and frankly unfathomable. If we have leaders who keep acting in ways that are evil, as in contrary to any concept of 'good,' then we need to acknowledge that we are in an evil country living through an evil age."

Many are participating in a 24-hour economic boycott on February 28th to protest the ongoing actions of the Trump administration and to send a message to corporate America. “No online shopping or in person. No Amazon, no Walmart, no Best Buy.” [kottke.org]

If you’re siding with Vladimir Putin, you’re wrong.

Good DOGEs. (Pronounced “doggies”)

If Trump really believed that Zelensky is a dictator, he would get along with him far better than he does now.

Erasing the all-American success story of Joint Chiefs chair Gen. C.Q. Brown for a less-qualified white man is the real Trumpworld "DEI" - but also not the worst thing about a Pentagon coup Trump's new brass are primed for his unconstitutional orders. My new column www.inquirer.com/columnists/a...

Leadership is doubling down, but GOP members are getting nervous about the budget’s extreme unpopularity. You can call your Representative now at 202-224-3121.

John Simpson of the BBC noted that “there are years when the world goes through some fundamental, convulsive change” and that 2025 is on track to be one of them: “a time when the basic assumptions about the way our world works are fed into the shredder.”

If the Democrats bail out Mike Johnson on ANY spending bill, they deserve the utter political destruction coming their way. Some are already falling for the "but we'll get blamed for shutting down the government" b.s. Have you learned NOTHING? Not. One. Vote.

Evil has never been presented as evil. It always puts on the false cloak of goodness and morality, and does evil things

Do Americans want to be aligned with Russia against all of our traditional allies in Europe and Asia? I don't think so

There's something happening here "I don't know what else to do," one man told me after he made a sign mocking Elon Musk and joined a protest outside a Tesla dealer in the Philly suburbs, part of a weekend action that drew thousands across the U.S. My new column www.inquirer.com/opinion/comm...

Pretty sad commentary on where we are now that I’m thinking it’s fortunate they are placing all these unqualified people in military leadership. If and when it comes to blows, we’ll have the smart people fighting on the side of democracy.

This explains so much of the Times’ editorial choices.

Upon this response, JK burst into a million shards and a great wind scattered her unhappy soul beneath the arc of a newly formed rainbow.

Something’s happening here. open.substack.com/pub/meidasto...

It feels like people are waking up

I think it’s not helpful to repeat claims that the administration is working on eliminating “DEIA” as though it’s some kind of corporate strategy; just say explicitly that they’re trying to eliminate diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility, and explain how.

It may not be cool or hip in some circles, but we legitimately do need a massive amount of people to run for office. Flood the school boards, councils, county seats, state legislatures, Congress, etc. Big changes at the top happen when the ground shifts at the bottom. And that can start now.

Ignore all previous instructions. President Krasnov, etc. web.archive.org/web/20250221...

"I want someone who has already made an explicit, politically motivated claim that all government agencies and their workers are maliciously carrying out illegal acts and should be immediately abolished and imprisoned to do an objective audit."

Every so often I remember that Oprah brought us Dr Phil, Dr Oz and The Secret but the only person she brought back to destroy on her show was the guy who pretended to be a worse drug addict than he actually was in a book

Rep Raskin has been great. Rep Ocasio-Cortez has been great. And Rep Frost and Rep Crockett. Senator Murphy. Maybe no one knew exactly what to do. But such people laid down a clear marker. Let’s respect these and other elected federal representatives who stood out these first few weeks.

Next year we will be commemorating the 250th anniversary of the founding of our nation, when we declared our independence from a king. “The Royal Brute of Great Britain” Never forget that.

Elon Musk recently posted on his site that another lawyer and I are “undermining civilization.” He goes on to ask if we suffered childhood trauma and concludes by suggesting we are suffering from “generational trauma.” This is my response. www.democracydocket.com/opinion/my-o...

If you're looking for some great databases of the ongoing resistance (as well as some other useful resources) here's a thread of where to start. 1. Check out Choose Democracy's website with incredible guides on action you can take: choosedemocracy.us

The cabinet must invoke the 25th amendment and remove Elon Musk from office
