The word “spat” is a kind of gaslighting. We all saw what it was.

Zelensky is proof that comedians don't need permission from the traditional gatekeepers anymore, to build a fanbase and a television career. Have faith in your product, and know how to work social media. It's far more valuable than a Fringe run.

Weasel words obviously, but really quite important. Friday really starting to feel like a breaking point.

Quietly ruthless is another good description

Anthropomorphisation of the colour beige is the best description of Starmer but at least he’s not orange

In a world full of Elon Musk wannabes, be a Matt Damon.

(on a personal note it's quite striking how quickly I've gone from "generally a bit of a pinko on defence issues" to "and could I just do a monthly direct debit to BAE Systems, would that help")

“Vance skis in jeans”

They are transvestigating the Shrek reboot on Facebook.

I remember when the war started people were shocked that Zelensky, once a crossdressing comedian, would stand up to Putin, a muscle-bound big game hunter, but it will always take more strength to defy masculinity than abide by it

american masculinity is so amazing. caring about clothes as a man apparently makes you "gay" but our position on geopolitics totally depends on whether you wear a suit

President Zelensky has been invited to meet King Charles in London tomorrow. That's the respect this hero deserves.

President Zelensky will meet King Charles at Sandringham tomorrow. A spokesman for the King said the purpose of the meeting was "to annoy the fuck out of that dreadful orange shithead"

This, read this, it’s not often a Substack reduces me to tears, but this has but they’re determined tears, Europe can and must do this, America has fallen.

How lucky it was for the world that America then had a president who understood the powerful symbolism of a democratic statesman living in a war zone dressing in a way appropriate to an existential struggle for freedom on the frontier of western civilisation. Now, not so much.

on this day when everyone is grappling with how to stand up to empire and if one individual can can even make a difference, remember Porphyrios

😂😂

Governor Walz has it right. I miss hearing his plain, common sense talk.

Good will prevail. But only if we all stand up to be counted. Fuck evil.

Again, the richest man in human history personally individually directed this

Finland, Iceland, UK, Canada, Spain, Moldova, Lithuania, Latvia, Czech Republic, Norway, Germany, Sweden, Portugal, France, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Ireland, Croatia, Denmark, Estonia & Poland have all given messages of support for Ukraine this evening! 👏 👏 #SlavaUkraini

My esteem for Pedro Pascal grows ever greater.

Great to see a new rainbow plaque in Warwick Avenue this LGBT History Month, honouring journalist, actor and lesbian rights activist Jackie Forster. The project celebrates the vital contributions of LGBTQIA+ communities, past and present, to our city.

Starting to think everyone's problem these days is they weren't born in the 1980s and therefore weren't raised with 90s movies

Love this from Denmark

After playing a fictional member of the Resistance a long time ago, I never could have imagined it ever happening in real life, but here we are.

BlueSky, we need bookmarks!

Utter gobbledygook, drafted by Tufton St, and the media is treating it like the sermon on the mount. We must be strong, by abandoning our allies, we must secure supply chains, while doing Brexit, we must protect a rules based global order, while attacking the ECHR. Wut? 😱

A new Queen has arrived btw

I’ve been hacked over in the other place, which in one way is rather a blessing. The process of trying to sort it out is, however, exasperating. This tweet (which a friend screenshot and sent) did make me laugh though, so that’s something!

‘Orwellian’ -a very clear statement from Dorian Lynskey @dorianlynskey.bsky.social in the Independent.

Love this photo of Judi Dench. This is what I want to look like when I’m pushing 90: lived in.

A trailer during U20 Six Nations coverage has revealed #DoctorWho series two as April 12th. Pretty sure that wasn’t the plan.

Good morning. After a rough few days, this week's Blind Date was perfectly timed to fill you with joy. Couldn't wipe the smile off my face. www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle...

Brilliant front page

This popped up in my timeline. It’s just SO GOOD, I had to share. Enjoy yourself a little timeline cleanser…. 🪡🧵💚
