One of the sad things about the way Trump has galvanized the entire world against him, is that suddenly all of our effort and money will be put into the war machine again, instead of into fighting climate change.

Am I the only one wondering if MAGA supporters realise that Alaska used to be Russian territory? Wonder if they would apply the logic they are using on Ukraine if Putin decided to take Alaska back? www.nps.gov/anch/learn/h...

Boom 💥 Baby

No schadenfreude or satisfaction in seeing ‘prominent’ Trump cheerleaders in the UK finally see the light & change their tune (Andrew Neil is just the latest). Just a low simmer at their toxic blend of arrogance, cupidity & ignorance & the knowledge that the media will still promote their ilk.

Terribly convenient, isn't it, for a generation in power which has ruthlessly screwed young people - house prices, tuition fees and grants, environmental breakdown, hostility to their speech and identity - to blame smart phones for their poor mental health.

So flights were disrupted but also what about the environmental damage?

Remember: Musk is a coward at heart. A weak man, not a strong one. A fragile ego just like the guy he shares an office with.

British PM Starmer hugged Zelenskyy. That’s how bad U.S. foreign policy has gotten—it’s driving the Brits to physical displays of emotion.

THIS IS SHOCKING - the financial links between MPs and the private healthcare sector. We have just completed research showing that... MPs received more than £2.7m in donations from individuals and companies directly or indirectly connected to the private healthcare sector between 2023 and 2025 🚨

America, just in case you thought Friday went well here’s how the London Times saw it …..

If Trump still wants his state visit I vote Andrew takes him to the pizza express in Woking - Trump will probably cancel anyway because of "WOKE ing".

This is classy. I think Starmer has got it wrong on where we should stand relative to Europe and the US but this is one of the first times I've admired him since he became PM.

Two key points from reading press coverage of yesterday's disaster. 1) It is not a 'shouting match' when one side does all the shouting and interrupting, while the other side (speaking in a language not his own) remains firm but polite.

A masterful summary👇

The PM has spoken to Presidents Zelensky and Trump tonight. Number 10 spox says: "He retains unwavering support for Ukraine, and is doing all he can to find a path forward to a lasting peace based on sovereignty and security for Ukraine."

#WeStandWithUkraine

Unbelievable. Donald Trump has been invited to a state visit to the UK. We should not be rolling out the red carpet to celebrate this man. Agree? Add your name to the petition today: you.38degrees.org.uk/petitions/no...

I keep reading that Zelensky shouldn't have risen to the bait. The man is human. He's seen tens of thousands of Ukrainians murdered, their cities blown apart & their children stolen. He was sitting by a man who's looting his country's minerals & praising Putin. And for 40 minutes, he held it in.

Zelensky found out what it was like to be a US governor in a blue state asking Trump for medical supplies during the pandemic. Or disaster relief after a wildfire or storm. It’s not his money, but he fully expects you to beg and plead for it and tell him how wonderful he is.

One thing I can’t get out of my head is that zelensky speaks English as a foreign language and then you have these two arrogant men just shouting over him. Really primal, schoolyard bully stuff.

@labourlist.bsky.social Where is Starmer?

👏

a regular bugbear of mine - when something goes over budget on costs by 50% it's the end of the world, but you can underestimate the benefits massively and people treat it like a success story. Crossrail was arguably built 20 years too late because of these errors

Republican “free speech” = they get to say racist slurs in public while you get arrested for protesting them.

Once again i'm trying to get myself abolished as a Peer. As new appointees to the House of Lords rocket, thanks to having so many PMs in a such a short time, and each creating a list of people to be ennobled, it's time to rethink our second Chamber. We need democracy now!

Reform with 5 MP's gets more TV and Newspaper coverage than the Greens, SNP, Independents and Lib Dems combined. This is because Reform is owned by the billionaires who own the Media.

When I worked in UK academia I recall hearing of a Japanese man who was baffled at how Britain had decided to run its universities like firms. “Why? Your universities are excellent and your firms are terrible.”

A tax of 2% above €100,000,000 will generate €25,000,000,000. 👏 👏 👏
