I agree that it’s often difficult to understand accents that are way different from our own. I depend on closed captions a lot. NM is close to a law requiring public 📺 sets to turn on captions. The GOP claims it’s too hard for small businesses to be required to find the remote.

I have a different perspective. I’m hard of hearing 🧏♀️ due to measles. South Asian accents are extremely difficult for me to understand. Not their fault, of course. Standardizing voices can improve communication.
