20+ mil Americans (who are not all the same) agree that we don’t have to talk to each using rules and sites that aren’t working. The “rules” hinder the conversations we want to have and the deep dives into topics we like to discuss. Rage baiting isn’t a conversation. Why isn’t this the lead?

This article misses a huge point. A huge bloc of Americans are angry and frustrated with the establishment, including the largest social media apps. They are looking for and trying something else. This is clearly making some people uncomfortable. Is BlueSky the answer? I really don’t know.

I hope at he at least gets a chance. We need leaders who have figured out how to speak to voters, mobilize turnout, and win in deeply conservative districts and states.

Sounds great for the UK, not so great for U.S. consumers.

Let me put it this way… The authors of the study you linked (thank you) concluded that practices that people don’t follow fail, while (practices people adopt) like handwashing were more effective. That being said, I think the topic is very important and should be discussed.

Authors conclusions: “The high risk of bias in the trials, variation in outcome measurement, and relatively low adherence with the interventions during the studies hampers drawing firm conclusions.” lol.🤦‍♀️

Our lawmakers are saying out loud that “sales tax is a choice”. 🤦‍♀️ “Income tax is a mandate; you have to pay it. You get punished for making more money,” said Republican Rep. Julie Emerson, “Sales tax is a choice,”. 🤡 I wish she would say that to the faces of parents buying diapers and formula.

This will hurt folks here who have to spend a significant amount of their income at the grocery store. Louisiana already has some of the highest combined local and state sales taxes. Ignoring “kitchen table” economics is supposed to be a surefire way to lose the electorate, but only time will tell.

They miss a huge point. Users here don’t want an echo chamber. Online disinformation and hate wasn’t broadening my horizons either.

Drill baby drill? U.S. oil production is up 150% since 2007. We have a net surplus of domestic output. In 2020, the U.S. began selling more oil and petroleum products than we purchase. Doesn’t Trump know this? In 2023, we exported 1.6 million barrels per day more than we imported.

Gave up cable news months ago. I’m honestly taking a hard look at what I support and trying to support creators on platforms that don’t push our voices and content down like Letters from an American on Substack: open.substack.com/pub/heatherc...

This is great information! Thanks for sharing! Two takeaways for me: the surge in immigration started while Trump was still in office. Our border’s infrastructure is overwhelmed. We need to increase and modernize the tools we give Border Enforcement agencies.
