Yes, and music (thank you music), houseplants, hiking, cooking and game nights, wandering the city, becoming penpals with my high school best friend, listening to elders and babies.

With a side of academic bravery in the face of fascism! I sometimes picture Hirschman fleeing across the Pyrenees with an extra pair of socks and a copy of Montaigne’s Essais, and it gives me hope. 💜 www.bostonreview.net/articles/we-...

A few in that neighborhood that have been on my mind lately: The School for Good Mothers, by Jessamine Chan, and Never Let Me Go and Klara and the Sun by Kazuo Ishiguro. Looking forward to seeing what others say!

Yes, please! What a treat. I am currently reading and loving The Dispossessed by Ursula K. Le Guin. Just before that I read and loved Percival Everett’s James. Some revolutionary energy here, I’m noticing! I would love any ideas that come to mind, any genre.

So fun to have another place to share besides the sidewalk. Thanks for making it!! (And thanks to you and your NYC Bluesky pals for alerting me to this sweet sticker opportunity. What a civic service! 🧡)

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang! (Also read by David Tennant.) And we’ve liked these as read-alouds (not sure about the audiobooks): Where the Mountain Meets the Moon, The Wild Robot, The Trumpet of the Swan. Good luck!!

Ah yes, a friend introduced me to that show on a car trip around Iceland. Love it! (And it will always make me think of lava fields.)

Nice—thank you!! The good news is that I have a lifetime of doing dishes and folding laundry to look forward to after the presents are done…so plenty of listening time ahead…

Oh, yes, definitely an IBCK fan, probably thanks to you originally recommending Maintenance Phase. I’m so glad The Big Dig is good—I’ll look forward to it! (Did you ever hear of Richest Hill, from Montana Public Radio, about Butte? Also on the dig theme.)
