the national "fell for it again" awards competition has come to southern missouri. big fan of watching people delude themselves that this isn't what they voted for while the guy next to them smiles and speaks the truth: yes you did, you just feel bad about it now.

Judge Terence Evans seat on the 7th Circuit was kept open by the Republicans for 8 years from 2010 - 2018. Four of those years 2010-2014 Democrats controlled the Senate. Dems allow & enable this.

The problem is Democrats don't refuse to use all available options(abolishing filibuster, expanding the court) when they possess power, then Republicans use any means possible (holding open SCOTUS seat, Trumps EOs) to accomplish their goals & Dems just shrug & refuse to do the same thing.

When the Cass Review came out last year, the NYT rushed to cover it complete with post notifications. After reviews in Germany and Utah came out supporting gender affirming care for trans youth, dead silence. You can be just as biased in what you don't cover as what you do.

This bespoke exception for the Fed is one of the most brazenly made-up things I've ever seen the Supreme Court do (which is saying something). There is no principled basis to distinguish the Fed from other independent agencies. The conservative justices just don't want Trump to crash the market!
