"History will remember this day— when an American President and Vice President abandoned all we stand for."

It's been obvious since January 6 that he was an enemy of the USA, the UK & the whole of the free world. Everybody still in his camp understands this as completely as everybody against it. They just prioritise personal interest over the national & international. And they know it. They all know it.

This is worth your time www.channel4.com/news/trump-t...

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen 👏

I think this is the closest many of us have ever got to seeing the real Trump. The only consistent thread in his entire unhinged rant was the love & praise for Vladimir Putin. Zelensky has more courage & dignity in his little finger than every member of Trump's regime & fan club combined.

Good God this is a catastrophe. I can't believe what I'm watching. I don't have the words. These people are horrific bullies.

All in all, Starmer’s first Trump White House visit looks like it couldn’t have gone much better. No 10 will be delighted and relieved, his enemies bitterly disappointed.

There’s going to be a lot of hat-eating tonight. Critics will find a way to do the PM down, of course. Say he gave too much or too little. Was too fawning or not enough. They'd have done it better. Nothing will come of it. But in their black shrivelled heart they'll know Starmer played a blinder.

The far right becoming the official opposition in Germany and the US siding with North Korea at the UN. If the warning signs weren’t clear enough, then surely they must be now?

America is going very dark very quickly.

This is very good news. Britain’s net zero economy is booming, CBI says www.theguardian.com/environment/...

Stephen Fry, "I'm deeply worried about the darkening shadow that's going over the world, the shadow of fascism" Laura Kuenssberg, "You would use that word?" Stephen Fry, "Absolutely. It's a cult of power. And power only speaks to power"

Berlin today. Dark and tense mood hanging over everything. As ppl head to the polls tomorrow, the stakes could not be higher for Germany’s future and Europe. And everyone knows it here.

Farage talking bollocks again .. who would have thought it?

A Labour manifesto promise was to introduce expert domestic abuse specialists to 999 control rooms to offer support to call handlers, carry out risk assessments, support police on the ground and help victims access specialist support services. Today, the first of these specialists are in place!

They are deliberately crossing the red lines, in order to make the unacceptable commonplace and, eventually, acceptable again.

🔥 Finally!! Starmer ready to offer Youth Mobility Scheme. 🙌🙌🙌

Lisa Nandy announces £270m fund for UK’s ‘crumbling’ cultural infrastructure

Where’s Nigel?

This Byline Times story on Farage pictured with far-right activists has not been picked up by any established media outlet - including liberal/democratic/left publications. Why? Because people like being comfortable in their own power and status. The newspaper I edit will keep sounding the alarm.

It’s never been more important to stay tuned in | Margaret Sullivan

Despite what the press tells us, the government is very busy, often doing popular things. But you wouldn’t know it from the press coverage eastangliabylines.co.uk/politics/gov...

Last week saw the University hold a panel event in partnership with @tracybrabinmayorwy.bsky.social, as part of Sexual Abuse and Sexual Violence Awareness Week. Joining staff and students, the discussion explored how partners are working together to tackle sexual violence across the region.

Rapists of the world unite......

The NHS emerging as a big early success story for Labour. 2 million appointment target met 5 months early Waiting lists failing during winter flu season. And it’s early days. Labour fixing the NHS, as they promised to

Musk, Vance & Trump all misrepresent democracy. When they say “democracy”, they mean a free-for-all with no rule of law, where the winner takes all. When Europe says “democracy”, we mean proportional representation, collaborative politics, citizen rights, and agreed guide rails guaranteed by law.

Well this aged like fine milk in a hot car.

I am so proud to say that I volunteer alongside this absolutely amazing team who champion women ♥️

I have a theory that the people who applaud Katharine Birbalsingh the most are those who've never been near one of the thousands of other state schools in this country... and imagine they're all semi-feral Marxist hothouses because of something they read in the Daily Telegraph

That's right Liz, it was the plastic straws that lost Tories the election. Not the lies, corruption, incompetence, law breaking, higher taxes, tanked economy, increased poverty, sleaze scandals or rivers full of shit.

The word 'symposium' comes from a Greek term for a drinking party, should you be looking for a truthful excuse to knock off early.

England will not boycott Afghanistan game despite Taliban ‘gender apartheid’

Keir Starmer, when asked about Trump's Gaza plan, directly contradicts the US President: "They must be allowed home. They must be allowed to rebuild. And we should be within them in that rebuild, on the way to a two state solution." #PMQs

Yesterday the government confirmed the £69bn funding for councils, a 6.8% increase on the previous year. It includes £880m more for the Social Care Grant and £270m for the new Children's Social Care Prevention Grant. 1/2

The number of people applying to train as a primary school teacher in England has fallen by almost 10% year-on-year, PolHome analysis shows A schools union warned that if the current trend continues,“we’ll literally end up without teachers in our classrooms" @matildamartin.bsky.social reports

I'm sure the anti Starmer people will be able to twist the fact that no primary school child will start school hungry into something evil, but I think it's a cause for celebration.

The most frustrating thing about continuing failure to skewer Farage is that his grasp of detail is non-existent. It’s why he gets petulant when exposed to even mildly decent questions. Interviewers just need to zone in on one element of the bullshit & interrogate it until his ignorance is exposed.

The government has announced plans for 13 new offshore wind projects, streamlining the consent processes to ensure these important green energy infrastructure projects are built more quickly, and bring in up to £30bn of investment. 1/2

Great video by @labourunionsuk.bsky.social of John Prescott, whose funeral was today. John was a Labour Party giant who spent his life trying to improve the lives of others. Thank you, John. ✊

More performative hate. www.newsweek.com/trump-direct...

They really, really need to pin this on Farage. When you think of the 'big beasts' of Brexit bollocks, there's not really anyone else left in the game so it should be quite easy.
