Teacher: Yeah I know we haven’t actually started learning anything yet this year but I really can’t start teaching until 2/3 of you agree on what exactly to learn so I guess we’ll just sit here and twiddle our thumbs

I get it, but keep in mind that sometimes this is a sign that someone has a large vocabulary due to reading but has never heard a word aloud. Younger me would have been happy with a gentle correction

We’re in Pittsburgh and have only had this problem a few times with other cars we’ve owned. Occasionally if left out a long time a car door will get a little stuck closed but the Tesla was different because the handles don’t stick out. So there’s no way to yank the door open.

Tesla refuses to learn from a century of auto engineering. We ditched our Model Y partly because the doors and windows would both freeze shut and Tesla’s solution was either to heat up the car for 30-60 minutes before driving it (taking most of the battery with it) or to use a hair dryer.

A pet peeve of mine is that the cable company will no longer send someone out to set up your router or cable box. We now have to be the technicians, download stupid apps as part of the process, and if we can’t get it to work right we spend hours on a customer service line.

Gordie did NOT want to come back into the house after a car ride today. I left him for 20 minutes and came back to this look. “Oh, you wanted me to come inside with you?” Had to bribe him with promises of turkey

I remember reading your article and it really hitting home. I’ve talked to a few people recently who feel like women should stop doing all of the things that are holding society together. Essentially they should go on strike and watch it all burn. Is this an attitude you’re seeing?

Totally agree! I mean, even if only 5% of Americans were either implicitly or explicitly motivated by racism or misogyny, that’s much more than the margin of victory. It’s extremely depressing

I have not but my mom’s best friend was. Years later, she told me she never worries about it anymore, “I mean what are the chances I would get struck again?” I told her they were about the same as when she got hit the first time and she decided maybe she should worry 😂

Totally agree! And I also can imagine the US getting stuck in a cycle of always voting the incumbent party out. Just voting for the opposition every time because of a constant pessimistic view and always blaming the party in control instead of who is causing the problems
