Wellā€¦ me, but thatā€™s because I have a superhuman gag reflex and donā€™t wanna hurt anyone LOL

As if someone wouldnā€™t be into this.

He had to make The Martian to make up for this

This sign feels very kink-shamey. Very judgmental

HAHAHAHAHAHA Okay but seriously which one? Because the second one gets a lot more right than the first one. Butā€¦ thereā€™s a lot more stuff packed in there so more stuff overall isnā€™t entirely accurate. Hollywood doesnā€™t know planes, itā€™s just how it is. Donā€™t blame them, planes are hard.

I donā€™t think so. They need to retain as much cannon fodder as possible. Wouldnā€™t be surprised if MilTok influencers who are sharing their experiences in this arena get ā€œreassigned,ā€ though.

Good thing being extremely calm and effective in a crisis is a very common trait among people with ADHD. We also love a good hyperfixation on things that suddenly spark our interestā€¦ Theyā€™re welcome to FAFO.

If undiagnosed, they absolutely can enlist and commission. Thereā€™s an entire swath of the military community realizing they have ADHD and/or Autism and are being diagnosed as adults. But since theyā€™re already in, they can stay, theyā€™re grandfathered.
comment in response to post
I can see how one might see that if they donā€™t look closer. Thatā€™s the veneer they put on it.

Yes, I have. If you enjoy Star Wars and/or burlesque, itā€™s a must-see.

Can confirm Empire Strips Back is awesome
comment in response to post
Yes, definitely. I do think it was intentional given the titleā€¦ but how much of those more subversive themes were intentional, I have no idea. It was great, regardless
comment in response to post
ā€œDeath Star trench run but make it military planes,ā€ that was just the rails it was set on. Maverickā€™s character journey was what the film is really about. Those writers were either subversive as hell to fit all that in while also appeasing a conservative crowd, or they were lucky. Lol
comment in response to post
Absolutely. And reallyā€¦ aside from the obvious F-14 gimmick (which was just fun), every bit of fan service served a purpose in the story. Bringing in Penny, Gooseā€™s son, they were all people heā€™d hurt because hurt people hurt people. All people he had to answer to. That was the real plot, not theā€¦

purpose, but they also had a theme of found family going, which resonates much more universally than just ā€œfamily.ā€ Itā€™s about making it up to people he wronged due to his own BS, and him owning his BS helps him find peace, belonging, and family for the first time since his dad died. Full circle.
comment in response to post
It really is lmao. And likeā€¦ we didnā€™t need another military propaganda movie about white guys. But ughā€¦ I liked it too much. Lol I think the focus on Maverickā€™s continuing guilt and trauma is what connects it best to the original, and makes it feel like it belongs. But idk if they did this onā€¦

Ohhhhh Jinora will have THINGS TO SAY
comment in response to post
Top Gun: Maverick had no business being as good as it was. Especially with that much fan service packed in. It also had an EXTREMELY different tone, which seems like it shouldnā€™t work, but it did. Really well.

That is also a good point, I had forgotten about that part. Mostly because I was fretting about Dedraā€™s stalker saving her life and I was like, ā€œOhhhhh I really hope theyā€™re smarter than thisā€¦ā€

I already have a cat who does this šŸ˜‚

Yep. Not to mention itā€™s our entertainment that helps keep us sane (and hopefully not pacified). Love this for us.

I was sitting next to my friend who is the biggest Captain America nerd in existence and we both were like, ā€œOkay so Anthony Mackie fucking crushed it.ā€ He brought up the fighting style theyā€™d created for Sam and I was like OH MY GOD Iā€™M NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO NOTICED
comment in response to post
I heard someone say Anthony Mackie didnā€™t have the charisma to be cap AFTER seeing this movie and I have no idea wth they were talking about. Thereā€™s hints of it there with Sam and Isaiahā€™s interactions, but yeahā€¦ itā€™s wasted for the most part.
comment in response to post
Also a good point. But the media we consume is the best place to insert these kinds of messages. Itā€™s the most accessible and has the biggest impact. Unfortunately in a hyper-capitalistic society, that means we have to pay the machine for it
comment in response to post
I can see that. But since Cassian is definitely portrayed as an audience surrogate, Iā€™d actually lay money it was intentional.
comment in response to post
Itā€™s so stupid. Like, Captain America was pretty damned toothless. I would argue there wasnā€™t room for that type of commentary in a movie that is purely existing to move the overall plot forward, but why are we wasting Sam Wilson and Isiah Bradley like that
comment in response to post
Yeah I think that may be the point of itā€¦ because Cassian is definitely dismissing it. But then this kidā€™s death is part of his radicalization process and he keeps the manifesto on him at all times.
comment in response to post
And people high up are watching much more closelyā€¦
comment in response to post
God I just hope they do a good job. Thereā€™s a lot of ground for them to cover. I like the way theyā€™re doing it, but oh god. Lol
comment in response to post
Star Wars is out here screaming about fascism and neo-liberalism with its entire chest and I am SO here for it. Even some arcs in The Mandalorian, and the over-arching theme of Imperial war crimes and occupation of Mandalore.

Which is genius

We do not have an abundance of duck eggs around here. Theyā€™re also not great to bake with at altitude.

My ex-fiancĆ©ā€™s Apple TV remote oh my god
comment in response to post
Part of the reason I use my Xbox as my main streaming platform because the controller at least is a very different shape and size. Itā€™s kind of a PITA, though
comment in response to post
They ABSOLUTELY do and make way better baked goods. The difference honestly is one of the things that radicalized me about how shit things are here.
comment in response to post
Yeeeeeahā€¦ our birds ainā€™t the best. Getting eggs from friends with chickens has kind of been how we roll for a while. Their birds are vaccinated, treated well, and I can make tamago kake gohan without worrying
comment in response to post
Yeah no butchers = better Thank god my sister and BIL are getting chickens
comment in response to post
Theyā€™re medium-sized, though. I donā€™t think Iā€™ve ever seen anything smaller than large eggs here. Not worth what weā€™re paying for themā€¦ but still. šŸ˜‚

Gonna be mostly MIA, but Iā€™m alright. This is a normal reaction to this vaccine for me. Just gonna be focusing on feeling not shitty lol
