Oh, look, Cuban is suggesting extortion.
Another reminder that there are no ‘good’ billionaires.

Well, having taught at the university level for 20 years, I hate to tell you, the worst work ethic is to be found in young, white men. They bitterly complain about having to compete when their fathers didn’t have to.
comment in response to

The right stoked their resentments, encouraged their victimhood, and blamed their lack on of success on ‘others’, not on their own lack of hard work.

They also bitterly resent that they can’t be assholes to women, POC, and LGBTQ folks.

They resent that they have to work for the kind of life that, in generations past, was simply handed to all white men because they ran everything. You could be mediocre and still ‘make it’. Now, they have to compete, and they don’t like it.

Yep - he really is one of the most frustrating folks on the interwebs right now. His hectoring sanctimony, without actually doing anything productive, is really tough to take.

Congratulations, you have become the meme.

Yep - no time to be playing pundit on the sidelines, time for folks like Stancil to use their talents in the service of the country. Simply opining isn't going to cut it anymore.

Because they've wanted this to happen and just never had the guts to actually put a bill doing so up for consideration. This is a win-win for Republicans - the American people get gutted like a fish and their hands are 'clean'.

Well, I'm guessing they are thinking that they said everything they could possibly say, and more, and the people rejected them.
What could they possibly say now that would make any difference - especially if we, the people, don't get off our couches and do something.

Politico? Jesus, they are utterly supine when it comes to Trump.

An amazing show that definitely should've gotten at least one more season.

When the orange menace isn't on the ballot, the maga crowd doesn't vote in the same numbers, so flipping the house is absolutely doable.

Without an education how would you even begin to know if the answer was anywhere close to being accurate, true, reliable, verifiable?
@mcuban.bsky.social - This may be the single dumbest thing you've ever posted.

Yep - was going to say exactly this.

I’m guessing that it’s conflict of interest all the way down - he attached himself to Trump in the campaign so he could do exactly this.
Why would anyone think he is doing this for anyone but himself?

Would love for you to do daily press briefings - we need someone who is adept at media to get the message out every day.

How about you just do your bloody job and get to the business of defending the constitution and country from the knaves in the Republican party who are intent on destroying the whole system just to enrich themselves and their billionaire friends.

That salute is exactly who he is, that salute is who he has always been. His mask has finally fallen off.
My hope is that you will finally see him for who he actually is.

There is no one to blame for his descent other than himself. He has become a plague - and everything he touches is corrupted, diseased, damaged.
Look to better people for your role models, he deserves none of your praise, and would cast you aside without thinking.

I refuse to click the link. I don't want to give the Times that little victory, because you know they publish crap like this to get hate/rage clicks.
That said, I'm guessing Turley wrote this? Like the Times, he lives for this, our rage has filled his coffers nicely.

Getting a BA in physics doesn’t make you a physicist.
He leveraged his family’s wealth (made whilst enjoying and supporting apartheid) to ride the internet boom.
His only talent is marketing himself as a genius and then profiting off the work of actual scientists and technicians.

A problem is that when a Democrat does run with an idea, there is a whole chorus of other Democrats, various media types, and all sorts of online folks who absolutely shit on the idea as insufficient, not sharp enough, too this, too that.
We have to stop reflexively eating our own.

It's not masculinity - it's the fundamental sin of treating people as things.
Maybe, just maybe, you should spare a moment for a bit of self-reflection on how you have sunk so low, fluffing such assholes as if it were a positive for, well, anything.

Their sense of 'masculinity' is what the rest of the human race calls misogyny.

There may be better ones, but I don’t think there are any truly good ones.
A billionaire can only accrue that much by exploitation.
comment in response to

It's a start - but it needs to be followed up with some serious donations. He has money to spare, time to start putting it to good use.
comment in response to

No such thing as a good billionaire - they all trampled a whole lot of folks to bury that much money in their ledgers. Any one person holding that much capital is not someone to be lauded.
Oh, and nice argument trying to say that there is no middle ground between the obscenely rich and the poor.

I'd rather have him use his billions in service of the idea he offered. How many people could he put through medical school right now?
comment in response to
post
In contrast to others on this thread - I do not want you to run for office. Continue to work from the sidelines, offer good ideas, and perhaps use your grotesquely inflated wealth to solve some of the problems you identify. Why not take a billion or so and simply pay for medical school.
comment in response to
post
I certainly hope not. We don't need the billionaire class to solve our problems, because they can't. If he wants to help, great, continue to roll up his sleeves, but the last thing we need is another billionaire in office. Billionaires are, root and branch, a part of the problem.

No more billionaires running for office. Not even the 'good' ones.

Thank you.
I think their downfall will come because they don't know how to build, only destroy, and that is self-defeating. Building up our networks, sharing our little victories, this is what gets us through all of this, because we are doing so together.

Where is the rest of the WHCA? They never missed an opportunity to blow a gasket when Biden or Obama even hinted that maybe Fox News folks should grow up and become real journalists. Will they stand with the AP?

Where are all the Republicans who shredded President Obama for wearing a tan suit?
I mean, a nazi in the oval wearing a baseball hat and a bad blazer over a tshirt surely merits at least as much outrage.

This sums up everything that deBoer ever wrote: "incurious, poorly reasoned and overly credulous to the nativist right."

Good lord - what would it take for a sitting Republican to actually criticize Trump? I mean that, what would he have to do to actually get one of these dipshits to say, ‘yep, that’s too far’.
Right now - don’t think there’s a single thing.
These are the biggest cowards in US history.

Then again, he is quite stupid and cruel, and thus doesn’t care enough to learn about things like constitutional law.
He and Vance are two peas in a white nationalist pod.
