All McConnell had to do was get 10 more Republican senators vote to remove Trump after January 6th and this whole scenario could have been completely prevented

Was literally talking to a former senior UK MoD person involved in nuclear matters who was terrified Trump would figure out the Trident common pool could be leverage with Starmer—now this in the FT www.ft.com/content/762c...

I celebrate the 80% of Germans who did not vote for the far right. Do not make 19.6% of German voters into "the" German people (again). "The" German people don't exist! The German population is diverse and divided, but voted overwhelmingly for liberal democratic parties. #BTW25 #GermanElection

BERLIN (AP) — Exit polls show Alternative for Germany on course for strongest far-right showing in a national election since WWII.

Exit polls in the #GermanElection show a big win for the Conservatives and the Far Right AfD in second place, but polling a point or two lower than anticipated.

A) Of course work requirements are cuts to Medicaid. They kick people off Medicaid and thus there's less spent on Medicaid. That's the whole point. B) Work requirements for Medicaid would cut $100 billion over 10 years. House Republicans want to cut $880 billion from Medicaid over 10 years.

I think the way it works is that discrimination against black men is basically “assume this person is a threat” whereas discrimination against women is basically “assume this person is weak.” So a black man is more likely to be executed for flimsy reasons but also more likely to win the presidency.

trillion dollar industry that will revolutionize everything

“I’m not going to tell you I will never touch Social Security:” Rep. Pete Sessions, a longtime GOP member of Congress from Texas. www.nytimes.com/2025/02/23/u...

"She threatened to call the police after I slapped her, so I hit her again"

Clearly, things had not worked out the way that Ronald had hoped.

Hate to break it to Elon but most of my most productive work time is when I’m *not* on email..

I have seen multiple people do this to people who voted for Harris but happen to live in states like Alabama or Texas.

And somehow like too much IR related analysis right now Shapiro simply ignores how Musk and Trump are also torching the basic domestic foundations of US global power When Trump does something stupid it is usually not the product of a 5 dimensional chess master strategy, but rather it is just stupid

The vast majority of these 600 are civilians that were kidnapped in Gaza. Not accused of anything, not charged of anything.

Consider how much of a problem you have being online and then ask yourself how often you’ve actually done this

Quick reminder that the current craziness did NOT START with Trump and Elon Musk, but in the early years of George W. Bush‘s presidency, when one adviser told journalist Ron Suskind „we’re an empire now, and when we act, we create our own reality”.

Wow. The Bessent FT op-ed on the US economic development plan for Ukraine is quite something. This is a nineteenth century great power behaviour. www.ft.com/content/91a7...

Whenever I had a toxic manager I would memorize/make up a list of the five things I was working on because I knew they would always randomly ask me… neat to see we’ve got a government of the most toxic managers

I’m just gonna call it right now—agencies advising their employees to not respond to the OPM email is gonna cause Elon to absolutely crash the fuck out and do something even more batshit insane.

Not being funny or anything but if I was an American who had lost family fighting the Nazis I would be /beyond pissed/ that the President of the US literally doesn't know when Victory in Europe Day is.

This is the most wretched campaign of deliberate, explicit persecution the United States has perpetrated against a minority group in decades. Many of the most important people in politics and journalism are busying themselves trying to figure out how little to say or do about it.

Luigi discourse is cursed, and frankly a sign of political infantilism
