Murder! by Narwhal! By #AlexTSmith is easily one of my reads of the year. Utterly sublime in every way! Combining the golden age of the whodunnit with silly guffawing humour! An absolute triumph! @hachettechildrens.bsky.social @hodderbooks.bsky.social tomsbookcorner.wordpress.com/2025/02/22/m...

Back from a lovely break. Was so relaxing my body came down with a very phlegmy lergy and my voice has gone (much to the kids delight!) Have swopped Glühwein for Lemsip…. Just glad it only happened towards end of holiday! 🤧🫖🍯🫚

Seeing scenes like this always gets me a bit teary. @fionawoodcock.bsky.social @bloomsburybooksuk.bsky.social #LittleLionGirl

Brilliant!!! 🥳🥳🥳

Our research shows nearly a third of children do not have multiple reading influencers in their lives. It's essential we support as many people as possible to share stories with young children - helping them to enjoy the lifelong benefits of reading: www.booktrust.org.uk/what-we-do/i...

It's friday! Time for the weekly good news thread. What's your good news from the week? Big or small, what's made you smile or brought some bright spots into the world for you?

This poem stems from one of the most bizarre dreams I’ve ever had. Anyway - the first 3 lines of this poem were a prominent part of the dream and I wrote them down as soon as I woke up. In the dream I was chaperoning Snoop Doggy Dog to school workshops….like I said…BIZARRE! #nomorecheesebeforebed

Lovely stitch 😍

So anyway last Thursday we took over The Leicester Square Theatre in London & celebrated 10 Years of The Bear & The Piano with a mass reading, drawing & music session It was AMAZING & all of the brilliant people who were there filled my heart and soul with joy & I’ll never forget it. No big deal 🤷🏻‍♂️❤️

Who remembers #ThePuffinBookClub? I LOVED ticking the box to choose a couple of books each term. The Worst Witch #JillMurphy, Quick, Let’s Get Out of Here @michaelrosenyes.bsky.social , My Best Fiend #SheilaLavelle and Spike Milligan were just a few of the ….

Comics, Fiction, non-fiction, graphic novels, poetry books, joke books, instruction manuals… reading is reading! The key is #childrenschoice 💕 #kidlit 👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇

My mum would often sit on the sofa just reading. Sometimes, when she finished a book, she'd ask me if i could go upstairs to "the big bookcase" and pick what she should read next. I'd sit there for aaages looking at Dragon Lance covers, then bring one back down. "Oooh good choice!" She'd say.

Children need modelled behaviour and freedom of book choice!! LOVE the idea of laundry baskets filled with books instead of never ending laundry 🤗

Parents regularly ask me “How do I get my child to read?” I ask them “How much do you read in front of your kids?” My parents read a lot in front of me. One of the books on my Dad’s bookshelf was this one. I vaguely remember him telling me about it when I asked. Finally got round to reading it…

Lost for words reading Here We All Are. Incredibly moving…

It's friday! That means it's time for the weekly good news thread. What's your good news from the week? What's made you smile? What's brought some lightness?

Love this. Wish I could read stories to kids. But I think I look a bit too scary and creepy. Would give them nightmares! 😂
