Can't be any worse than getting Howard Wolowitz in your first four recognized characters. Though Hodgins was the closest match, and I did recognize him.

Cool, they changed their name and profile picture between replies. Or multiple people all posted the same reply, and got the same snappy response.

But I thought it was only the Americans who *specifically* desired for the Apocalypse to happen. You know, so they can more quickly meet sky daddy. They'd probably do it themselves, if not for their holy book telling them that's the gravest sin of all.

Or they could be so paranoid as to think that the EU just compiled one of the world's largest hit lists.

Too late anyway, but I would probably be likely to find out from this person that they're a SovCit or some nonsense.

What do I tell someone who is afraid to "submit so much personal information to a global database"?

Maybe if it came more often than the buses do locally. We could save a lot of money on transport if we took the bus, which only comes every hour on M-F and 90 minutes on Saturday and takes all of Sunday off. And takes two hours to get to the destination.

I think her solution to the last presidential election was openly "I didn't vote because I didn't want to be responsible for the outcome."

I don't think she uses Shitter, but my aunt has adopted a "wait and see" approach to the current regime. Then again, my whole entire extended family has long held a "don't discuss religion or politics" because it's impossible to be cordial with someone who openly hates your guts. Yes, close it off.

Maybe the true replacement I was looking for was not having to deal with the majority of other human beings on a regular basis. And as I've vacated most of the Discord servers I used to haunt due to Nazi propagation, I guess that leaves me with not socializing with people at all.

Sure, I'd just *love* to buy a server, and host a forum and wiki, that I'd have to patrol at least daily for all contributions. And likely have to fight a constant wave of spam. I could stick Cloudflare Bot Fight in front of it, and get complaints from people who hate Javascript. Or also Cloudflare.

I do have a Github discussions board, which is also next to dead, but I also don't have to babysit that. Except for one time. I already had to break out API to properly delete someone's issues instead of archiving them, when I had to ban them from the org.

Basically, I'm lazy, and don't want to have to babysit a potential cesspit 24/7. Especially that I'd have to pay for that potential cesspit. I'm already grateful that my public Discord server is next to dead, so I don't have to play moderator.

Well, for instance, if you're in the UK, it's literally illegal for you to host a forum, as you would be responsible for any user generated content posted within.
I just don't host a forum because I don't want the pain of having to run and moderate one. Same for a wiki.

People still use Windows 7. I used to know someone who even now uses XP and spends all his time writing his own personal shim collection to make random software work.

I have never heard of this movie, and from my minimal searches on the subject, I want to know even less.

Nothing I'm not terribly bad at dealing with, but it's understandable when someone may wish to go for a more integrated setup like Plasma. Sadly, I don't think I'm well equipped to deal with developing Plasma or fixing bugs there, considering how huge the code base is.
comment in response to

If you want the environments that have the effects, Plasma or Wayfire, though the latter requires significantly more effort to set up all the apps and such the way you may like. Also it's perpetually in a state of development. I just fixed an annoying issue with a very recent change to resizing.

Wonder if he is aware of how many American movies are produced or filmed in "foreign lands"...

Disregard that. There are too many people we know here, and it's not the most expensive thing we do running this server.

I must not be the real fan base, since I also mostly played the later entries solo, with no mods. Got kind of bored of them after completing the main story missions. Used to play BL1 from start to finish on an almost yearly basis, but this time, didn't feel like completing it.

Also, I had no idea that there was such a huge following for "mods" of these games. The most modding I ever did back in the day was save editing when I got bored after playing the games to death already. Sometimes a little bumping the levels of rare drops I farmed.

No, he's assuming it means that the games are scraping your browser credentials for all sites and selling them to advertisers. And the entire got dang fan base of Reddit posters and Youtube commenters who believe this at face value. Damn.

I mean, this is why I gave up trying to talk about things I thought I just discovered for myself that I thought sounded neat. Turned out everyone else I knew was already a Masters or PhD in the subject. Much better that I admit that I'm an expert only at consuming mindlessly.

Couldn't hear a dang thing that Karliah was practically whispering at me, over the loud battle music and the Hired Thugs just whaling away at me nonstop for the entire unskippable cutscene.

And of course, the first time I decided to use tim instead of tgm, and one of them decapitated me, and I ended up playing for a few hours before realizing there was no fix for the cosmetic bug or no shouts, so I reloaded the save I made before the Karliah cutscene. Same Thugs spawned, used tgm.

I was sort of reminded why this would be a bad idea, since a jury of the right arrangement of peers could free you if they agree with your plight. Same goes for allegedly guilty people, though. And the opposite holds true, a group could be biased against you for whatever reason.
