So could we, as a country, not accept the 'let's get angry over some obviously undeliverable cuts and an inadequate increase in defence spending' stage of our politics has been running for a decade now and has gone on long enough?

What, you didn’t love all the weird flying facial hair shit?? 😅 Still can’t believe two separate companies had such similar creepy ideas!?

Odd way to spell “glorious”?? 🤔😁

Sure this won’t come back and bite me in the arse! Lot of game left to play 😬😬

Interesting times! I guess my question for Microsoft would be, if you give people less reason to buy any future Xbox hardware, how do you sustain GamePass numbers?? I know the strategy is “any box can be an Xbox” but unless I’m wrong GP subs are still highly correlated with owning hardware right??

That’s… definitely a sentence 😅

Yes, agree it’s going to be a challenge for them. Going to be hard to avoid some of the pitfalls Mass Effect 3 fell into!

Hmm, like most men (apparently), my answer would be Mars. Unlike most men (I’d guess), I feel that way because Sailor Mars was objectively the hottest sailor… person (not sure what the collective term here is).

Yes!! Haven’t consistently watched pro wrestling since the early 2000’s. Dipped in and out over the last couple of years (both WWE and AEW) since getting into the ‘Reliving the War’ series on YouTube, but looking forward to giving it a proper go now it’s on Netflix!!

Best ‘Witcher’ related content Netflix ever made (I’m not bitter, honest) 😒

Sea of Stars is a great little RPG! Lovely pixel art style, great character design, decent story. Quality 4/5 star game! 😊

Oh, is this from Nero’s? I actually quite like it (the biscuit is on the side for dunking) 😅 It is odd that it’s not just a mocha though (given the rest of the ingredients are just coffee, cream and chocolate right??) I’ve seen them put a syrup in, but not sure what it might actually contain…

But the actual quality of the magazine (size, binding, paper etc) was amazing! Stupid example I know, but it really surprised me 😅

Another more low stakes example of “qualitynesia” would be magazines! Recently helped my mum clear out some old things, which (I’m embarrassed to say) included a stack of ‘lads mags’ from the late 90’s (cringing at teenage me and his Louise Redknapp crush). Can’t speak for the content inside…

It’s a really interesting piece! Couple of thoughts; I’m sure others have linked this already, but @theverge.com had a good article about how it’s not currently possible to make tech as good (or at least, not as refined) as that anymore www.theverge.com/24295971/we-...

Absolutely love it! Brilliant characters, compelling gameplay. No idea why it’s an open world game like (not that’s it’s a huge deal, but definitely a tension between narrative and genre) 😅

Yeah. On a personal level I feel for her. Selfishly though, when I saw the news, I did think “well, that’s Leeds’ tram project fucked… again” 😒

Absolutely! It’s possible I’m misremembering, but I think Misty even states (after she wheels you back to your apartment) that you might only have DAYS to live (never mind weeks or months)! Good game, but that story really would have suited a more linear style.

I would really like there to be an acknowledgment of harms caused by all our legislation (and lack of legislation). A basic, respectful honesty.
Yes, if we change the law some vulnerable person will end up pressed into ending their life earlier. Yes, if we don’t change it, dying people will suffer

Have you bought the expansion? As well as being fucking excellent in its own right it gives you a couple of extra options/endings (probably not great news if you’d rather not play through it all again 😅)

What do people mean by “good”? I’d say you can get a decent range of sandwich’s without needing to leave the train station of most large UK cities! In Leeds we’ve got Boots, Sainsbury’s and M&S as your budget options, chain coffee options in Starbucks, Nero and Pret. Then Leon as the “fancy” choice.

I’ve seen people use ‘skeet’ (as in sky and tweet), but that’s both rubbish and gross (see pre-existing urban dictionary entry for ‘skeet’). I say, why not just keep using ‘tweet’?? It’s become like ‘hoover’ or ‘sellotape’ at this point surely.

Yes, but (and someone correct me if I’m wrong), you lose your bsky.social handle. So you may want to also create a second account and squat your own name 😅

It’s an interesting question, and although my instinct in the poll is say “yes but, depends on the game” - the reality is I’ve not bought any of the titles mentioned despite a few being in my various ‘wish lists’. Too many games, not enough time to play them 🤷🏻♂️

It’s the DNS domain registration thing I assume? So bsky.social is the default. But if you set your own up it could be sonia.sodha.com (or whatever domain you own)
comment in response to

Hmm wouldn’t you be limited in what you could say if you used that domain? Specifically anything party political.

Agree! Also, gets conflated with a ‘marketplace of ideas’ argument. These feel like different things to me. Wouldn’t recommend following high profile, mainstream politicians if you want to be exposed to a range of interesting ideas from across the spectrum.

This is such a rubbish campaign. Despite knowing what they’re implying, I still read it and think what do you mean “this”?? Xbox just isn’t a good name for what they want to become.

Quite. My preference of Bluesky is mostly related to its functionality (the primacy of a chronological feed and the fact that when I click a link to an FT article it opens in the FT app rather than a dogshit in-app browser).

I mean, in fairness ‘sunrise’ is a nicer name than the more accurate ‘baby vomit’ 😅
