Brisbane Times has no mention of the protests. Leading stories are about incidents in Bali. And this further down with the descriptive "Trumps America" ....

“Power tends to corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Great men are almost always bad men, even when they exercise influence and not authority; still more when you superadd the tendency of the certainty of corruption by authority.”
Lord Acton, 1887.

Depends what you want to see or do. Cruise is great for the reasons you outlined. This gives you access to major cities and day trips. Cost effective as Aus is expensive.

I would start with the postal vote docs sent to the electorate. That is a highly suspicious result considering his history and the results from the rest of the country.

Word on the street - Angus Taylor has been shoring up support for the last few weeks, in prep for a run. I would guess the contenders are the absent party members, trying to distance themselves from the LNP circus.

I propose that Bunnings are the designated early voting locations across australia with sausage sizzle every day. They can move the outdoor furniture to make room for the duration. Community groups can make some money in the process. All party volunteers to remain outside the building.

Yesterday I saw a fuel tanker in Brisbane covered in the same LNP messaging (United?). Voted yesterday and LNP volunteer screamed "save 25c a litre, vote LNP". I assume she was talking about fuel and not milk.

My theory - it was written by a 20 year old intern with all lower case. Superviser, who was a child of the 70's or 80's, highlights and changes to "Capitalise each word" but only changes some back to lower case. Perhaps the redundant capitals were an act of defiance.

It has slowed to 7km/hr. That is not good news. Landfall now expected Friday afternoon. The rain has started but wind dropped off.

There are a few plant apps you can get where you take a picture and they can tell you what it is. Or wait until it gets another flower and get a picture.

Leaves look too round for mock orange. Could be jasmine.

Do not under estimate the power of people. History shows, if you push people into a corner, they will react.

Entrenching the two party system might be good for the major parties & their donors - but it's not good for us, our kids & grandkids.
To counter this let's grow the cross bench!

With conversation view on, you can see the full conversation and attachments but you may need to click on the 3 small dots to load the full email exchange and attachments. You may also have a number inside a circle that will do the same thing. I just confirmed on my phone app.

Thats interesting the Ed Dept still provides paid isolation leave (optional not mandatory). At least they are looking after their teachers. Well done Vic.

SA had the strictest rules in health facilities out of all the states/territories during Covid lockdowns. I believe they are the only state left with specific Covid leave. I could be wrong.

We need to hold the line. Maintain our core values and beliefs. I don't think Australians understand that Project 2025 is on the LNP agenda. Facism is on our door step.

It is definitely on.

Australia needs to take the threat to our political system seriously. The LNP have a replica Project 2025 plan. Gina, Rupert, Pratt et al have big plans to increase their wealth/power. We do not want to see a replication of the US play book in our country.

I used to have a doco on DVD from 1980s? that showed how the nylon industry and USA Govt went after the hemp industry and destroyed it back in 1920/30s. ABC has an article from 2020 that summarises the doco. Very interesting.

This is very concerning. Roblox has a huge giveaway via Woolworths. I received an email advising I had won Roblox credits in a competition I wasn't even aware of or had entered. How many parents would innocently set up an account for kids to claim credits?

We went to Tas in April and visited the shop. I wanted all of it! Drove around in a camper and had the best time. We'll be back next year but have purchased calendars for family until then. Everyone should go to Tas and visit the shop. 😊

What a joke! Govt prosecutor should have requested this "individual", his family and their companies are barred from owning ANY land in Australia. He has done this TWICE. 🤬

Go in to Trade Tools or similar and check out the brands. The guys there seem to know their stuff and are cheaper than bunnings at sale time. They can tell you which brands will last. We have Makita 18V, light, bit dearer than the others. BUT they have lasted really well and worth the investment.

Some people are battered and bruised from their Twitter experience. I have no intention of leaving but I need some time to work out who is who in the zoo. There will probably be an official medical diagnosis for "Twitter PTSD" in the near future.
