Just seems like if you can't even commit to putting the trash where the rats can't eat it, you're not the Serious Get Things Done mayoral candidate defector.com/andrew-cuomo...

I’m taking over as the menswear guy. Men should rotate through the same four band t-shirts for 35 years. Replace the shirts with identical shirts if the holes in them get big or you get too fat for them

I went to see the 4K rerelease of Kurosawa’s Ran the other night and Takemitsu’s score was in brilliant dialogue with Mahler—the Japanese composer gazing back in time to the turn of the century, the fin de siecle composer gazing East to an imaginary Asia

I just read that we’ve lost kora player, composer, griot, and musical ambassador Foday Musa Suso.

Oh wow…. This guy’s music is wonderful, and glad to know he lived such a long life and made so much music to listen to. I feel very attached to his music—especially his 2nd symphony—because my deliberate misunderstanding of his ‘infinity series’ led me to develop my own approach to serialism.

My three-year-old sat on my lap, transfixed, watching Sufjan Stevens on Austin City Limits and I started wondering if I should get her into some kind of more focused music class to nurture this interest, or dare I say, gift, and then she looked up at me and asked “when is he gonna fly”

To add to Derek's point: try substituting the word "walkable" for the words "rock and roll" in the first song lyric that comes to mind

Both very important bands. Hard to overstate the influence of Beat Happening on the evolution of Nirvana, or the influence of Mötley Crüe on the evolution of antibiotic-resistant gonorrhea

I am so thrilled to present to you the first three composers to attend GLISS, our new residency for transfemme composers: לאה, Alex Matterson, & Lulu West www.sarah-hennies.com/gliss
