It's wild how new the concept of the nation is. People seem to think I'm odd for being an anarchist, but nations are modern parasites. Nationalism is forfeitting part of your identity to the state and letting the government replace what was lost. No wonder it leads to fascism every single time.

One of the big things I wanted to convey when I started Occultpunk is that this is actually a -punk game. The punk aesthetic has long been co-opted and washed of meaning. It's a game of resistance, yes, but it's also a game of mutual aid, of community, of diversity, of love. That is what 'punk' is.

Is there a good term for people who aren't white but aren't exactly 'brown'? Feel like I've been kinda left in the dust here. Calling myself either term feels like a bold-faced lie, and I don't want to come across like I'm ignorant to colorism by using one term or another.

1/3 This began as a different game called Heretic. It was going to be inspired by my upbringing within a cult and explore that very unique type of isolation. It's such an oddball experience though that I had trouble conveying it well, but there's still some DNA from Heretic in Occultpunk.

My current big project is Occultpunk. It's a TTRPG where you play as magical dissidents in an urban (though not necessarily modern) fantasy city. It's a game about thwarting fascists and building community, featuring a unique (to me, anyways) dice resolution and combat system. It's neat. #ttrpgdev
