You make a good point though... people might now understand....
They should simply put $16,000 as dependents under 17

Change your employee status to independent contractor and no federal, social security, and medicare withholding will be collected from you paycheck.
Your employers deposit and report these WH on 941 reports.
They will notice quickly when the 941s are very short.

The best way to strike on taxes is to stop allowing withholding from pay checks.
Change your W4 to Exempt or claim 8 Dependents and no federal withholding will be collected.

from your paycheck.
Change your W4 to Exempt or claim 8 dependents so that no federal withholding funds will be taken from your paycheck.
(Save that money on your own for if you ever need to settle the debt.)

You do not need to file an extension. Filing an extension only helps you avoid a failure to file penalty on the debt owed.
File your taxes timely, but just don't send in a balance due.
The real way to strike taxes is to not allow the federal government to hold WITHHOLDING taxes all year long

It took them months of organizing to storm the Capitol. I do think tho that we should be organizing a mass protest there.

Super unnecessary for this direct action. People just don't pay withholding tax. Do their tax returns at the beginning of 2026. Don't pay in if it's still a strike.

Change your W4 to exempt or claim 8 dependents. Do not let any of your money be withheld for federal taxes. You'll still pay Social Security and Medicare taxes.
Save your usual withholdings to pay in when the tax strike is over.

I think they'll cave quickly when they aren't getting enough 941 deposits.

It's a trick right out of his own playbook. Withhold money and blackmail your opponent.

We'll be kinda shooting ourselves in the foot bc they'll have no choice but gut agencies even worse with no revenue to sustain them.... But it's an apropos tactic when dealing with mobsters.

Perversion of use for our tax revenue is tantamount to no representation.
Go change your W4 to exempt status or claim 10 dependents.
Or go independent contractor.
If they stop getting 941 deposits weekly, biweekly, and monthly, they are going to notice fast.

For everybody discussing the legal validity of a tax strike ... That's the civil disobedience part of the idea.
You willfully break a law as protest. Particularly an unjust law. I'm pretty sure taxation without representation is how we ended up as a sovereign nation.

Extensions only save you a failure to file penalty.
You're just as well off filing but not paying.

Also.... The IRS is being gutted with firings and was already woefully understaffed, so they don't have time to chase down half of America.

You are not required to withhold if you think you're going to be exempt.
Tax is the one area where "mistake" is a legal defense.
You don't get an underpayment penalty unless you underpay two years in a row over $1000.

Go exempt on your W4 so they can't withhold any of your money for federal taxes
