And ironically “Xbox One” is a term that almost perfectly encapsulates that all of your devices are one Xbox 🤣

Ah very familiar. Or as I like to call it. A Tuesday.

Fair play, I’ll allow it 🤣

Jesse. Pick a paint colour bro 😉

Yeah it’s wildly inconsistent. Even from game to game consecutively. I can fire up Forza and play flawlessly. Then immediately switch to Halo Infinite and it be a complete mess. It’s odd

Recommend GeforceNOW on Deck. Markedly improved results for me. Has a free tier (granted 1 hour session limits, ad supported wait times). But also contains a good chunk of your Game Pass library on there

Yeah it’s annoyingly inconsistent. PSN cloud is the same. Half the time it works. But it only takes the one or two times it doesn’t to put you off ever trying it again. I use it for indie games, Balatro for example. Frustratingly, GeforceNOW by comparison is worlds ahead of it

Blazor is in such an odd spot for me. Dotnet dev for ~15 years. But it doesn’t matter how hard I try. It always becomes clear to me that the only reason it exists is for language convenience & even then with heavy consequences. Yet every comment on .NET videos rave about it. I’m missing something

Looks sick. I’m debating an upgrade myself. As for HDR. I think the problem is, it really is a meme on cheaper sets that don’t have the brightness to do it justice. But in a good quality set, especially, OLED. It’s genuinely a game changer

Well said. In fact, oddly, there are many instances where games actually perform better on Linux through Proton. For reasons I’m far too stupid to understand

True. But by that logic why couldn’t $400 already be the inflated price?

Yeah I’m very much looking forward to something like this too. And as you say, not just a skin over the bloat. A lean, optimised, gaming installation of Windows. We can dream

SteamOS, & indeed Linux in general, isn’t actively supported for things like Anti-cheat in a lot of games. Which can lead to bans (if they work at all). Live service games in particular, e.g. Destiny 2 aren’t playable there. Not to mention Game Pass apps that are UWP and not supported on Linux sadly

But will we get Ori 3? I ask Jez Corden, industry insider, with a hopeful, playful, inquisitive tone in my voice…

Either way. I appreciate your point. Even if I disagree. But pretty sure we probably both came away from twitter (perhaps) to get away from mindless arguments. Completely expect your opinion. Have a great day dude 😊

Ok. If you think so. Again, agree to disagree. I think grey areas are why clarification is important. Either way. There are people who have taken Jez’s article and spinning it with headlines stating Microsoft are making a first party Xbox handheld this year. And THAT isn’t true. Hence clarification

Fair enough. I don’t personally believe Tom is doing anything other than dotting the i’s and crossing the t’s but that’s all good. Have a great day

Cool. So consider this clarification for the 10% then 😊
comment in response to
post
Sure. If you like. But not the point I’m making. I’m simply saying the distinction is fair game. Clarification is important whether it’s massively relevant or not. I don’t see what the big deal is with it personally. But you do you. Agree to disagree 😊

Until it goes wrong. And they start banging on Microsoft’s door. Distinction is important
comment in response to
post
No. It’s more like the Ally or Legion Go but with an xbox skin on top of windows. Similar to what SteamOS is to their desktop mode. And an Xbox logo on the device
comment in response to
post
No. Clarification is important. The Lenovo Legion Go S contains steam branding. Yet is is NOT a SteamDeck. Tom isn’t clarifying anything Jez said. He’s clarifying what others are saying who haven’t read it correctly. If you understood it, or don’t care about the difference. Great. Move along

I’ll be honest I went in to this direct with nothing more than a passing glance at Expedition 33 but I think I left with it being the game I’m most excited for. Looks absolutely stunning and the gameplay is super interesting

Wow honestly Bluesky is actually alright (for now). I feared the worst for the comments on this when I’ve seen the absolute fire pit of YouTube comments recently. Seems a safer space here dude. Hope you’re well

Still take mine on flights. But playing SML 1 on this as a kid with only a few seconds of light as your parents drove underneath street lights at night is a core memory I’ll never forget
comment in response to

Or Super Mario Land one, on the original Game Boy with only 3 seconds of visibility as your dad drove under every street lamp at night. Even now that’s an impossibly hard game. No saves either. Never realised it but completing that is one of my finest achievements

So true. Sadly though, they are also proof that you can release them in that state and recover. Which I fear is the rose tinted spectacles shareholders will be looking through

The problem as much as anything is people’s need to a) label everything and b) say they hate labelling anything
