I have a couple of hot takes when it comes to Critical Role. First, the "Matt Mercer Effect" doesn't exist. You just have a problem with talking with someone who has unreasonable expectations of you. And rather than trying to talk it out with them, you'd rather blame a C-list celebrity.

I think a lot of DM's, especially new DMs, and maybe some *players* don't realize that a meaningful percentage of your average session is, and should be, the players playing off EACH OTHER. They roleplay. They generate their own content and the DM can just watch and listen.
