Remember when Edmonds (or rather a few people from there) wanted to exempt from upzoning anyplace that's in a watershed? I mean, isn't literally all land on Earth in a watershed?

Let's meet in Munich to appease the aggressor, that always goes well.

I think this why many farmers and others who rely on the undocumented voted GOP: they don't really want their own workers deported, but they want the threat of deportation to keep the rest of them scared and compliant.

So, he's saying this will make housing more affordable then?

So does he really not know the word voodoo? Or did he dictate this to an intern?

Just like Ted Bundy served on Seattle's Crime Prevention Advisory Commission, helping to write a pamphlet advising women how to avoid being raped.

People in the industry called it a "ZipZap Machine," after the sound it made. This is a piece of trivia you can use at parties to prevent young people from talking to you after that.

There's no plausible scenario where WA is in play for the presidency, but in theory this could impact turnout and thereby influence downballot races.
In practice this will just be a way to waste money on lawyers.

Wait, so instead of having senators selected by the same people who select the baboons in Olympia, they want senators selected by... the baboons in Olympia?

I don't agree with them, but at least people who don't want to vote Biden because of Gaza have some sort of reasoning. This is just nonsense; the lesson Dems will learn is that student loan relief doesn't win votes.

Some small states (DC, DE, HI, NM, RI, VT) have arguably done just that by joining the popular vote interstate compact. Alas, it's not about small states, it's about red states and blue states.

The most common argument I see is to deify the Founding Fathers and suggest that because they set it up, it should be beyond question. Hard to know how to answer that other than throwing hands up.

There's also the argument that it helps ensure farmers are represented, but most farmers are in states like CA, TX and IL who lose our under this system.

Elections have two results: selecting a winner, and making the participants feel things.
A civic-minded person recognizes that the first thing is what matters. A person who struggles to manage their own emotions fixates on the second thing, so I wouldn't say "stupid" necessarily, just sad.

Do plumbers need a new name too? They don't use lead any more either (I hope).

We still call the dark marky stuff in pencils "lead" even though it hasn't been made of that within any of our lifetimes.

I can see how he would be upset that "society" isn't doing what he commands it to, but perhaps that content would be more suited for his therapist or journal.

The question seems subject to interpretation; does listing university mean "I hate having one near me" or "I don't think every neighborhood necessarily needs its own"?

So if you have negligible assets and are judgement-proof, then you can commit any crime that you want. Sounds great, instead of being dependent on Social Security, old people can become bank robbers and hitmen.

It's a mainstay of right-wing thinking that, if anyone ever regrets doing X, then nobody should be allowed to do X.
I mean, as long as X is transitioning, or getting an abortion, or something they're looking for an excuse to ban.

Just so I'm clear, is this saying we should do this in addition to building more housing? Or do this instead of building more housing?

??? Landlords are not the ones chanting "build more housing;" most of them would prefer we didn't.

Sadly my guess is that's roughly how many people would agree with any anti-immigrant statement. An interesting follow-up would be "Do you agree that immigrants entering the US illegally are harming America by disrupting the sunspot cycle?"
