This is where I am. We’re still relatively early in a cycle if we can keep the right players and make key additions. It’s very clear that the last two summers were about making sure injuries would not cost us in defense/midfield. It’s time to do that for the attack.

Wasn’t able to watch today — was there a noticeable difference after he came on?

Havertz at the top with Trossard supporting, Odegaard, Rice, Merino, and Partey clogging the central zones, and width from the fullbacks?

Is it witchcraft or is it state-sponsored? Remember, if you’re not paying, someone else is.

The answer has to be defense *mostly*.

I’ve never seen one.

Yeah. WTF was that.

I always dislike those flags when the player is already committed, but Barkley was clearly going out of bounds so I see why they threw it.

He’s already not allowed to referee Newcastle games — and he’s *supposed* to be one of better ones. What a farce.

It’s gaslighting.

At this point, suspension be damned, I’d love for Mikel to give a press conference where he shows images of non-carded foul after non-card foul to make a point.

If you put that URL in your profile description it should show as a link once you save it.

Some see an escalation, I see a single thread and theme.

I feel this. Good buddy is a long-time Lions fan, and I-I-I feel bad for him.

Lot of ball left. Do you really trust this defense?!

Either way — it’s just a bummer. That’s important goals ruled out by VAR (even if rightly) in a number of matches now. Just unfortunate and makes the results hurt that much more.

I’ve gone back and forth a few times. At one point was sure it didn’t, then absolutely sure it did, now I’m not sure again.
Can’t change it now though!

I get the sentiment, it seems rather unlikely, but why rush to make a call like that with nearly 50 points to play for. Trying to protect yourself emotionally 😂

That was insane. It might’ve hit his arm but it was in no way obvious or clear on any angle I saw.

It’s 60 yards, 1 TD, and a win. Remove those from the totals and it’s still pretty damn good.

Yeah I’m not a big “ask for penalties” guy, but that one was… woof.

Get that RPO game going. Need to make them respect the run enough to use it, but that’s how you stay out of the pressure.

Sneakily? It just is bad. And I don’t think Allen makes it better.

It probably should be. Hard to tell if his first foot dragged out before the second touched. Very nice play.

Man, if there was ever proof that social media’s sheer existence leads to an angrier general public, it’s the replies to your post. Unbelievable.

I almost gave them credit bc I’d forgotten about Chiesa, but he’s had the same impact as Sterling has for us… none.

I had folks telling me today how many more attackers Liverpool have — to the point where I looked up their squad thinking I was forgetting someone. Nope. It’s 5 dudes just like we have. One of theirs is just having the best season he’s ever had.

This is what I’ve been saying in the various Arsenal places I interact. Clubs don’t buy replacements ahead of time for their best players. When your injuries are in the attacking third and you lose your best and/or second best attacker for most of the season, it’s going to be tough to score.

Though frankly, the yellow card on Nwaneri for time wasting was the more shocking call.

Maybe that should be a penalty, but I’ve certainly never seen one like that given.

Seems like the Nittany Lions might’ve finally broken Boise.

Guys — I’m not sure if Boise State’s coach is a Christian or not. Do you think he could make that clearer?
