How about Labour publicising the positives of immigration? As we Boomers claim our pensions, prescriptions and bus passes, who is filling all those vacant roles in our hospitals, care homes and factories? This only feeds those who demonise all immigrants. Call out the Reformers...don't copy them.

We see enough poor developments being proposed by unscrupulous developers. At the moment, councillors are resisting instructions to pass every application before them, regardless of quality. I don't think we're far from the day when we boycott planning meetings altogether.

Great article Carla. Now can we, as a Party, boycott X?

The Tories thought they'd seen off Farage by adopting UKIP policies. It's the way the political establishment survives, by absorbing the new. The SDP morphed with the Liberals and Blair took their policies. The Tories will be indistinguishable from Reform.

Do you really think Dorset, Somerset and Wiltshire are ready for a Green Mayor? Half of the population thinks Boris should be brought back. The other half are still upset Thatcher got the boot.

I quite fancy being the Mayor of Wessex. It sounds like a Thomas Hardy character. Mind you, the Mayor of Casterbridge didn't fare well. Anyway, Happy Christmas, Andrew. Keep up the good work.

Opposition to improving relationships with neighbours and allies, without suggesting alternatives, is simply perverse.

Hi, John...just catching up with you here. The reality of the government's policy is beginning to unravel here in Somerset. Selwood Garden Community in Frome promises 1,700 houses but the social and affordable houses won't emerge until year 8 of 15 years earliest. Too late for the next GE.

Still recording. Justin Currie had a respected solo career during a 10 year hiatus but, as with all songwriters, their individual achievements never match up to the commercial draw of the band...as was proven by The Beatles, Stones, Squeeze and more.

Well, I'm posting a previous book in chapters which, according to the algorithm is getting around 100 views each time. You never know how many really. Our Unravelling Wilburys podcast is doing much better..quite a lot of downloads as well as hundreds of listeners. Excellent suggestion...thanks.
