The fact they chose California as the flash point is also an indicator that they don't think these things through LA has like 4M+ people. Sending every single ICE officer is ~20K, LAPD is 9K, LASD is 10K. Going in at 100:1 manpower – leaving zero bodies for literally anything else – is foolish 1/

not the main issue here but i'd really appreciate it if democratic politicians spoke out in support of big-city life and culture with the same energy and reverence that all politicians have for small towns los angeles is "real america" and so are all the other big cities the president hates

People often stop me in the street (never happened) and ask: “What do people like on Bluesky?” “Mountains and flowers,” comes my reply. Mt. Fuji with a sprinkle of flowers for #stunday. ❤️ ✌🏽 #photography #nature #art #eastcoastkin #stormhour #photohour #fuji #japan #flowers #bloomscrolling #scape

Every person on Bluesky should know: * Every post on Bluesky is PUBLIC forever * Every post on Bluesky is archived by ICE, NSA, and many other agencies * Even if you delete a post, it’s already been captured * Judges don’t care if you were “kidding” or being ironic www.404media.co/the-200-site...

“A 2010 study that analyzed 40 years of protest coverage in five major newspapers, including The New York Times and The Washington Post, found that the papers depicted protests — even peaceful ones — as nuisances rather than as necessary functions of democracy.”

PASS IT ON: If you are National Guard or Active Duty military and you are being ordered to violate the constitutional rights of US citizens then this is the number to the GI Rights Hotline. There is support. You don’t have to go through with it. 877-447-4487

some folks have been there for *hours* today but don't want to leave because they're worried about numbers. gotta play the long game, swap out, relieve comrades who have been soaked in the rain. get there if you can

One thing I’d say about ranked choice voting in NYC is that you don’t have to do complex calculations of viability. You should rank in order of *who you want to be mayor* and if you *don’t* want someone to be mayor, you shouldn’t rank them!

Mood! And more.

Sad to see Jessica Ramos is just another sellout in progressive cosplay. Do not rank her, New Yorkers.

women who don't look "feminine" enough to satisfy randos are already being harassed and beaten in and after leaving public toilets.

Saw my first Cybertruck in the wild today, with a non-license plate in the front, promoting a local restaurant (illegal in NYC, where front & back plates are required). It's...small? and short? Kinda dinky-looking. When I realized what I was walking past, I laughed. It's so unimpressive.

* Every major news organisation in the world is covering this dark day in NZ history.

Their top two are my top two as well.

When we did driving vacations when I was a kid, my dad would get Triptiks from AAA & I would be the navigator. Before GPS, I would occasionally, when visiting friends, look at the map and give them directions for the area they lived in. I was good at maps. I love GPS. Useful even when walking.
