We will have to prepare for the worst! 217 republicans vote to cut Medicaid. Advanced to the Senate. And we know they will pass it Call your Senators now. Use @resist.bot Please repost

I've seen three different articles on this, because the guy who owns the company that makes this stuff reached out to the press. He's got 400,000 boxes of life-saving goo sitting in a warehouse, and if USAID won't accept it, he's going to have to throw it out.

NEW: During a 3-hour preliminary injunction hearing in a suit alleging that Elon Musk wields unprecedented power in violation of the Appointments Clause, a federal judge grew frustrated with government counsel's inability to answer questions about DOGE’s chain of command and Musk's role.

Whose peace is this anyway? 🇺🇦

There are a lot of people on here smugly telling people that protests don't work, that boycotts are pointless. These people are part of the problem, not the solution. Taking action, even at the most base level, as opposed to only calling reps, or posting, is a highly effective form of engagement.

Among the more inhumane things Trump/Musk have done this week, DOGE cut off food, water, & fuel to the US embassy in South Sudan. They are living on what power the generator can provide. The country has no potable water & there's a cholera outbreak in the country. These Americans are in real danger.

This is also why I think it is a mistake for universities and corporations to simply re-brand DEI policies. They need to defend the underlying principles (integration is good, diversity makes us better) rather than trying to outrun a fascist assault that will be trained on the re-brand

All these things we (I) didn’t even know were happening. You don’t know what you’ve got till it’s gone.

You get a COI, you get a COI,...

This is going in the wrong direction

I'm interested in software for an interactive game theory class. Is there a good software / web package that lets students play basic game-theoretic games (hawk-dove, PD, market entry games, etc) against one another on their phones, records the results, and presents summary statistics?

This is terrifying.

Musk companies are the new Haliburton. COI is a huge understatement. He'd fire any other federal employee for way less.

Y'all

I lost my job at the National Science Foundation yesterday, along with 167 of my colleagues, including some dear friends. This was the best job I've ever had, and I thought it would be my last. The PI community has been sympathetic and supportive, without exception. I will miss working for you.

DOGE’s expenses have risen above 40 million, with weekly costs now exceeding 10 million. We will release an updated DOGE staff list soon.

This is the most wretched campaign of deliberate, explicit persecution the United States has perpetrated against a minority group in decades. Many of the most important people in politics and journalism are busying themselves trying to figure out how little to say or do about it.

Judge: "If a road-construction grant is used to fill potholes in a low-income neighborhood instead of a wealthy neighborhood, does that render it ‘equity-related’?”" #OpenAsResistance www.yahoo.com/news/arbitra...

if your students are taking bigger risks to push back against fascism that you are, as a professor or research leader, you should feel bad about yourself.

I don't think we're talking enough about the fact that the pressure to remove DEI from science means women die.

Wow! I'm kind of shocked, but good job!

NEWS: Federal judge blocks parts of two of Trump’s anti-diversity executive orders, finding that some provisions violate the First Amendment and are unconstitutionally vague. * preliminary injunction: storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us... * opinion: storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...

Monday would be a good day for someone to sue Trump DOE for canceling $600 million in teacher training grants. www.washingtonpost.com/business/202...

Importnat progress!

Go Maine!! 🏳️‍⚧️

For calling your state's Reps/Senators are scripts effective or do you need to customize and if so, how? #OpenAsResistance

Another red flag EO: This is a very populist and disturbing opinion. We have checks and balances for a reason. Trump got a relative majority and his approval rating is way down. He did not get over 50% vote. 1/ #DictatorShitToday www.whitehouse.gov/fact-sheets/...

Oh lordy... I would have laughed begore. Now it is more like... oh okay, next move

Maybe... bear with me.... Silicon Valley's "best and brightest" are far less efficient than the government professionals they are displacing without rhyme or reason????

I can confirm this was reported in my office as well.

And today they ended their CZI Fellowship program...

Musk Fired America’s Disabled Veterans

The John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum in Boston was forced to close due to the “sudden dismissal of federal employees,” the library’s foundation said in a statement to CNN.

The Democrats on the House Science Committee have set up a website to collect stories from fired federal employees, anonymously if desired democrats-science.house.gov/sciencefirings

More cowards...

💥ATTENTION FEDS💥 All the termination letters going out that we've seen use "inadequate performance" as the reason for termination. SAVE YOUR PERFORMANCE EVALUATIONS. Tell your friends who aren't on bluesky! Probationary employees can't be fired for "poor performance" if their performance is not poor
