...Based on the results of Splatoon 3's Grand Festival, the theme of Splatoon 4 seems like it will be "Past." Maybe we'll get to see more of this history? Anyway, new Garbage album, yay!

...After a few secret battles (the single-player story modes of Splatoon 1 and 2), Octolings were finally broken free of their military brainwashing (The Octo Expansion), and peacefully rejoined the surface civilization. As of Splatoon 3, Inklings and Octolings live together in peace...

...Squids (Inklings) returned to the surface and restarted civilization, while octopuses (Octolings) were forced to stay underground. The Octolings made an elaborate LCD display that imitated the sky, but they still wanted the real thing. So they raised the Octarian army to retake the surface...

...But their plans went wrong, and humans went extinct. The crystals were embedded with the desire to return to the surface, and as mollusks evolved, so too did this desire. Eventually, octopuses and squids went to war over it, and squids won...

Splatoon story tutorial: Centuries ago, humans destroyed the environment via war and just being humans. To escape rising sea levels, they went underground. Human scientists tried to figure out a way to return to the surface, and a key part of this was crystals present in octopuses and squids...

But seriously, Nicalis is doing the best work they've ever done with Isaac in recent years. It's like someone sat Edmund McMillan down and said, "People are taking this game seriously. It's not your little troll factory anymore. Let's try to actually balance it."

Maybe I'm biased because I love the IP so, but have you considered Splatoon? I bet you'd draw some really nice Inkling and Octoling girls. Especially Marina. And also Shiver.

So I abandoned Threads, and now I glance at Bluesky and rarely post anything because no one will ever see anything I post here. And that's okay! It turns out that posting my thoughts on social media is an unimportant part of my life.

Your anger at how Major League Baseball fucks up the rules of baseball is how I, as a hockey fan, felt about Blades of Steel when I went back to it and discovered that it had no offside rule.

Okay, never mind. I just listened to "No. 4" and I think I've made the right decision ignoring STP for the last 30 years.

Oh, Kaiba is good, man! I made my co-host watch it back when I was doing a podcast about cartoons.

Heh. There's something to be said about how the whole plot of Fionna and Cake is basically them trying to bring back an important piece of Adventure Time's past in order to justify their existence...

Be warned: Fiona and Cake is VERY different from Adventure Time. Interesting lore, but way more serious. In Adventure Time, folks say "Yubba dubba dubba dubba" when they get knocked out. In Fiona and Cake, Finn drives a stake through a giant salamander's brain and splatters Simon with blood.
