So , instead of VETs having to travel great distances to get to a VA hospital for treatment , they will be able to get treatment at their local healthcare facility.
The government then pays the local facility .
Our party should support this to help the VETs .

That's what these layoffs are about.
Now the VETS will get treatment locally and the govt will pay the local hospital.
