One thing that may spell doom for Schumer is elite opinion. His appearance on The View was rough and he was worse on Chris Hayes. If D senators can’t socialize with the elite without being embarrassed by Schumer, they may be more likely to turn on him.

The most concerning thing about the Schumer situation is that even as he torches his credibility further with each media appearance, no Senate Ds have spoken out against him.
