This is perfect -- about 30 minutes outside of Dayton this week!

(also, they murder Erso to stop completion of the DS when they just watched Jedha City annihilated -- something I don't think is mentioned again -- barely escaping the shock wave & Saw dies. my immediate thought is that during filming, the destruction of Jedha has to occur after Erso's murder)

Another great quality of Andor is the score. Watching Rogue One after provides an immediate contrast, wow. (that may be part of my problem with it, the score doesn't fit with what's happening...

Lol, I was just pondering rebooting them. I'm not one in favor of redoing things. In this case, I feel like the prequels really derailed the whole franchise.
Is this the right call? Can we do it? π

It's the fake town of Rock Ridge from Blazing Saddles on the studio backlot. It's the Fight at OK Corral, reproduced forever from different camera angles.
And I'm not sure whether it will ever be anything else. Or whether we want it to be.

I really want to like Star Wars. It and the Star Trek movies were a large part of my childhood.
I can't help feeling, though, that Star Wars isn't a place: it's a mile wide and an inch deep.

(to be fair, I had the same problem with Rogue One: standing up and saying "I'm Jyn Urso" 30 times isn't enough for me; does that say more about me or the movie, you can decide π)

Yep, 'police shooting' could easily be 'police shoot and'

Can we get some sort of spacial anomaly so we can reboot the Prequels? What if there's a universe beyond the Fight at OK Corral? What could it look like? What stories could we tell? ππβοΈπ

Also, @mattbrown.bsky.social, welcome to the world of weed. With intention & practice, I believe it's entirely possible to have just enough to quiet the thinking mind so we can be available to hear the still small voice, should it arise.
(too serious, I know π)
Good luck! βοΈπΆπ

Still pondering that couple of weeks he sat out as Arsenal seemingly were set to offload him to Saudi Arabia.
Thankful for moves not made.

As I understand, he was indeed limited. It might be that the rest is creative storytelling

God is ok, it's God's fans that are difficult. Kinda like Phillies fans. π

I hear you. I can't believe it was 55 yesterday in Ohio. As the high. (And I played golf π₯Άπ).

For me, self editing is the hardest thing. Especially, taking out that last flourish I've added (it almost never adds anything and often subtracts) -- this kit makes me feel seen π

My mother is in her eighties: so much of her life (our lives?) is recency bias and availability heuristic.
Our brains are just trying to keep us safe (thank you!)

Yeah, I hear you. Better to choose either the pattern or red stripes. Both is too much
Thanks! I used to do graphic design so I always enjoy talking details

(I get they wanted to get red as our color in their somewhere, it's just one thing too much; with that pattern the stripes have to be the same color as the cannon, I think)
comment in response to

Yeah, I'm with you. either the red stripes or the pattern: choose one, not both!

I hear you. My thoughts: I love the continuation of the cannon. I find the pattern is bruised banana reminiscent (in different colors), is what it is. What I like least is the red stripes.
Is the pattern what you don't like? The color? What is moving/not moving you? π΄βͺ

Instead of removing it, what's a way to make it more similar to rugby? As you know, one difference between the two is that in football the offense starts the play rather than the ref. To ponder: How can we keep the play and even the odds a bit for the defense?

(have you read the short story that Arrival was based on?)

I hear you. I wonder if the ending was in the original cut. (I would guess not - for the reasons in attached post).
To contrast, Arrival with Amy Adams came out around the same time. It does more in the opening 3 mins to get me to care about the characters than all of R1.
