This is an extremely important read 👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻

Two Republican senators told me tonight this vote shows they can execute the same strategy again — cut Democrats out of the negotiations on a gov’t funding bill, pass it thru the House, and expect Senate Dems to back down and not filibuster it. “We liked it over here,” one said.

Literally this happens when you get rolled @schumer.senate.gov

Elizabeth Chandler, a Quaker from DE, used her penmanship to advocate for abolitionism. Her poem “The Slave Ship,” gained national attention, exposing the horrors suffered by the captured and enslaved during the Slave Trade. 159 days to Slavery Remembrance Day. #CountDowntoSRD

The University of Minnesota has just issued a new policy of "institutional neutrality," silencing the school from expressing an opinion about issues going on in the world. But Harvard and Johns Hopkins did the same thing, and ended up being investigated by the Trump administration anyway.

As someone who has criticized Mark Kelly in the past, all I can say is that this video is fantastic, this message is fantastic, and can we have more of this from the Dems please. 👇🏽👇🏽👇🏽👇🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

In 2021, McConnell successfully filibustered a Democratic CR ahead of a government shutdown and forced them to accept a clean one instead. What happened this week - a total cave on a totally partisan long-term funding bill - hasn’t happened in the 20 years I’ve covered Congress.

Of course, having to stay in DC past today would have interfered with Schumer’s book tour which begins Monday.

Wondering why Democrats keep selling out your values—and our democracy—in the name of ‘moderation’? Is it because the party leadership is too old, or too conservative? Turns out, it’s the same problem.

Attended a panel on transportation equity last night & it occurred to me, 30% of Americans don't have a drivers license, many more opt not to drive. What we spend on drivers v transit, sidewalks etc is not proportional.

The Young Turks and Hasan being some of the largest bubbles is *not great for the left*.

We will remember:

Senate Democratic leadership essentially played dead today and greenlit the Trump-Musk-Vance coup. What is the point of the Democratic Party if it doesn't actually act like an opposition party? Hello?

Democrats just got absolutely and completely rolled. Never once in my time in congress did we ever give up like this

@durbin.senate.gov I want to let you know that because of your vote today I will be donating to and volunteering for your primary opponent. I think I will have company. you have been in the Senate a long time and you have lost touch with the people of Illinois. prepare for the fight of your life.

Congratulations to @schumer.senate.gov and the others who just played into the hands of an insane dictator who just said it's illegal for cnn and msnbc to criticize him

"When you wave the white flag, it tells me you're weak."

A Dust storm and hurricane force winds blanketed Oklahoma today. Wildfires broke out all over town, police evacuated neighborhoods as homes burned. Now, dust is just everywhere. You can just smell and feel it, even inside. Why is 2025 leaning so hard into the dystopian novel vibes??

The Trump regime will arrest you in the middle of the night because you spoke your mind. And federal agents in plain clothes who refuse to identify themselves will be the ones to do it. If you think I'm being hyperbolic, watch this clip.

5 of the 10 Ds who voted for the bill *are* the Democratic leadership. * Leader Schumer * DSCC Chair Gillibrand * Whip Durbin * Deputy Whip Schatz * Outreach Chair Cortez Masto

TPM’s reporting about Peters was more accurate than his office’s statements to constituent callers, just to get a sense of how much Dems are outright at war with their own voters right now

No kings. Not ever. youtu.be/VZk4hhSPMG0?...

The grimmest realization is not the very old one that Trump is a hyper-sensitive narcissist who thinks criticizing him should be illegal. The grimmest realization is that a substantial number of Americans are born serfs, best suited for a monarchy, who thinks that’s manly and admirable and right.

I sure hope some documentarian is throwing a crew together to document the Schumer book tour. I think a story will unfold.

"What could have been a show of intellectual confidence on Newsom’s part has turned out to be a demeaning display of submission."

Chuck Schumer is gonna end up forming a two-person support group with Drake.

If you’re in the neighborhood…

I've been quiet lately for... a lot of reasons. But honestly: Fuck all this shit. Gloves off. Cowards to the back.

Newly sworn-in Prime Minister of Canada Mark Carney: "We will never, ever, in any way, shape or form, be part of the United States. America is not Canada."

Paging DOGE.

@captmarkkelly.bsky.social: "When I was flying combat missions over Iraq in 1991, I didn't think there was some snotty nosed teenager in South Africa that was going to call me a traitor."

These are the senators who collaborated with the GOP. Schumer Fetterman Cortez Masto Durbin King Shaheen Gillibrand Schatz Hassan Peters Don’t let them forget it. No peace for them.

@schumer.senate.gov you're no longer needed on BlueSky. you are not one of US. you are one of THEM. SEE YOURSELF OUT, ASSHOLE.

Let me put it in broader terms, Chuck. @schumer.senate.gov Anne Frank wouldn’t be able to trust you. #turncoat #resist

This week’s No Mercy / No Malice: Europe Becomes a Union www.profgalloway.com/europe-becom...

"What happened today – that speech – was a desecration of the Justice Department of the Great Hall of Justice, where it was given."

President Trump on Friday opened a third attack against a private law firm, restricting the business activities of Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison just days after a federal judge ruled such measures appeared to violate the Constitution.

@schumer.senate.gov @durbin.senate.gov @cortezmasto.senate.gov @hassan.senate.gov @fetterman.senate.gov and the rest of the traitorous 10 own this and everything that comes next. Resign.

BREAKING—The United States Institute of Peace (USIP) office was just on lockdown for close to an hour while members of the DOGE team tried to enter the building, multiple people have told me. Security has now escorted out remaining staffers who’ve been told to telework until further notice.

The US Institute of Peace is a purely Congressional institution. It is not under the executive branch. Thanks to the Schumer ten, Trump and Musk now feel emboldened to move in on the legislative branch.

As an aside - this particular moment is a good example of why it’s important for there to be candidate recruitment efforts outside the party apparatus (along with stronger candidate recruitment inside it.) It matters that we can encourage people to run in primaries against incumbents!
