Load shedding corrupted my OS last week and I've just realised that means I've lost the music project files for Roll or Nothing (everything else was backed up). Guess I'm redoing all the music! πŸ•ΊπŸŽΆ

I played 20+ games during the February Steam Next Fest to figure out what makes a great demo (and what ruins one). Here are 9 key lessons you should know Thread πŸ‘‡πŸ½πŸ§΅ #gamedev #indiedev #indiegames

The downside to developing prototypes on itch is that people can just copy/paste your game onto the mobile app store. I wonder if there's any way to defend against this? πŸ€” www.reddit.com/r/gamedev/co...

#GodotEngine 4.4 is finally here! πŸš€ Look forward to plenty of quality of life improvements hidden within this release. Faster load speeds, reduced stutter, streamlined processes, and more! godotengine.org/releases/4.4/

β€ͺThis morning I released a new build of my dice rolling game Roll or Nothing! πŸŽ²πŸ™Œ This version contains 3 new special dice types, some fancy new items and a whole host of improvements! You can read all about it on the devlog here: miltage.itch.io/roll-or-noth... #gamedev

Snapped these hauntingly beautiful images of Table Mountain on fire from the city last night.

Closing in on 30k views on itch.io! πŸ™Œ

Sundays are for re-installing your entire OS 😭

I'm getting close to completing a new build for Roll or Nothing, so I thought I'd take a moment to show off the 3 new dice types I've added to the game πŸ‘‡πŸ§΅ #gamedev #screenshotsaturday

Just accidentally discovered you can hold down SPACEBAR to play YouTube videos at 2x speed. Probably handy for skipping through some slower bits?

I wanna see more games with this exact aesthetic

In 2019 we built a joke game as part of a Rube Goldberg marketing campaign that would let indies turn the tables on key scammers. It got banned off Steam, exposed a $1.9M bug, confused the wrong scammers AND burned our marketing budget for zero gain. This is the story of Drawkanoid: Review Breaker.

I actually cannot wait for White Lotus S3 to drop. It's just people on vacation but it is the most compelling television I've seen in years. Also the best theme song imo since Dexter.

Hard to believe these photos I got with my phone on my sunset walk the other evening. πŸŒ…β€οΈπŸŒ™

You know, I question Steam's algorithm because I just thumbed through my "discovery queue" for the first time in 3 years and it's all Marvel Rivals or NFS or CoD, all stuff I will never play. Where are recommendations for niche indie titles I actually spend money on??

GDScript has grown on me over the years but I do wish the ternary operators were the regular "x ? true : false" you see in other languages instead of the cumbersome "true if x else false". Probably my only real gripe with the syntax.

THO are doing all the work in the word 'though', kinda reminds me of group projects at school.

There's a laundromat near me that has 2 guards posted outside. Definitely a different kind of laundering going on there.

My game's daily views on itch are 5x - 10x higher since the update I posted on the weekend! And most of these views are coming internally from itch itself. Could this simply be the results of choosing a better name? πŸ€”

I love making videogames because firing a nuclear missile into a space station is pretty straightforward, but having someone take off their hat while talking is massively out of scope

Why I love making games: it's an amalgamation of all these different art forms and disciplines that are each fun, interesting and challenging in their own right.
