that's starting to get really wide lol

but what does she think of x86?
comment in response to post
Pretty certain AVX 10.x/128 is supposed to be an allowable thing, nowhere does it explicitly state it is not, and the CPUID tables explicitly state that 256 bit vector support may not be present, so... (and not at any point has this changed, so the publication of the C&C article never changed that)

relatable

lmao

yeah, i've read this before, and, while i largely agree, Intel never really dropped the idea, did they? plus if anything this change doesn't really change much other than wording, no?
comment in response to post
though i am not sure i understand *what* is the concern

for what it's worth i care

wholesome chungus

to be clear, i did not get any results from Skymont on my testing, only LNC

hi, i am interested in this issue as i am skeptical it is a real issue. do you have a minimal reproducer i can throw at qemu to verify it? thanks :)
comment in response to post
evidently complaining about x86 existing or something
comment in response to post
(to be clear, i did not specify CS.D=0 because CS.L=1 CS.D=1 is an invalid state to begin with, which is currently unspecified and will lead to a #GP)
comment in response to post
yes, i was simplifying slightly for the sake of argument, but whatever, it doesn't invalidate anything of what i have said previously. if we want to be pedantic then you should say something like CR0.PE=1 CR0.PG=1 CR4.PAE=1 EFER.LME=1 EFER.LMA=1 CR3={idk some valid page tables}...
comment in response to post
yes, but what the text you screenshotted means is that E-cores will, eventually, acquire AVX10.x capabilities (most likely only the /256 subset), which is not a lie nor a broken promise, as that is the plan, and in the pipeline for future architectures
comment in response to post
in the manuals i have read, "long mode" refers to EFER.LME/LMA=1, which is one thing, while "64-bit mode" refers to CS.L=1, which is another thing
comment in response to post
the "this ISA" is referring to 10.x, not AVX-512 lol
comment in response to post
the text seems to imply that 64-bit = Long mode, but which one is it? they are not the same thing.
comment in response to post
what do you mean with this? that AVX10.x isn't coming? (it is) or that E-cores aren't "efficent"? (they are certainly die area efficient; Intel has always been careful to never say "power" efficient as that's not the goal)

great timeline!

all my homies love x86
comment in response to post
Exist50 on reddit as well as myself for thinking that it's a bad idea, and therefore it being abandoned checks out.

X86S is not going to happen.

are we like speedrunning history what is going on

mind you, she *is* ultimately free to do as she pleases, i won't act entitled like others here and act like she owes me shit, but what i meant is that it is sad to see yet another creator i enjoy potentially end up being dulled out by these crowds

there is no realisation or growth. this is literally just her reaction to try to appease the people dogpiling on her, because sometimes doing things that way, especially if you have mental health issues, is the only tolerable way to do things rather than fighting through the hate with a thick skin
comment in response to post
i reiterate what i said in the original thread: i hope she changes nothing. i am SO TIRED of all the "kid friendly" bullshit on youtube nowadays, i just want to be able to enjoy someone making the jokes they please in peace. Let parents be parents.

so much this
comment in response to post
you're restating the issue making it sound righteous when in reality it is as simple as: is it illegal? no. then quit *acting* like Cibles owes you to "respect the younger fans" (which shouldn't probably be watching her in the first place) and move on, given this is not where Cibles' stance lies

this may be the most moronic post i have read all day, sorry. the comparison literally makes no sense, and it is honestly really funny how long it took you to deliberate over this inanity of a post

i think bluesky truly is the new twitter because after the convo you mentioned i hate it just as much
