The attitude in that post is indicative of a larger cultural problem, particularly with Gen X/Millennials, in that we want so badly to hold on to our extended adolescence that we've allowed the gerontocracy to flourish. I know it's not all our fault, but we haven't pushed against Boomers hard enough

We get it, Charlie, you're scared of cities. The first conservative ever to be scared of cities. 📣Hey! Everyone look! This conservative is scared of cities!📣

Unfortunately, we live in a country that actively discourages financial literacy for the benefit of the elite. If people could understand just how much of wealth is merely a matter of policy and not a representation of moral worth, intellect, or divine favor, we would have a far better country.

Sometimes I do question the democratic process when a significant portion of the electorate treats voting like it is some quiz they forgot to study for and just pick the person who's name they heard of, but can't remember why. "Cuomo? That guy was on TV, right? Boom! Voted!"

What? A tattoo of the Jerusalem Cross is the sign of a totally normal, level-headed person.

You have to understand that for the surveillance industrial complex, having a mobile camera that's always on & almost always perfectly pointed at particular subject(s)--particularly faces--is a hugely lucrative proposition. They can't make us wear it, so they have to make it so we want to.

I don't know. He is on to something. I mean, how can Alex Jones be a lying scumbag when there's this other one? This is just an ironclad argument, and I wish you would just accept defeat.

As someone with a reasonable amount of random boxing/MMA/BJJ experience: I can confidenly say if it's in the streets: I'm poking eyes and kneeing groins when I can. Remember: there are no cheap shots in the streets.

It is pretty funny, but remember that EVERY SpaceX launch from Boca Chica incinerates a lot of ground nesting birds and their eggs--meaning Elon Musk's only real achievement in life may only be rendering some species of bird extinct.

Fortunately, real fascism is when I can't say slurs free of social repercussions, so I'm fine with this.

You do have to realize that for A LOT of these dudes, they just have nothing genuine inside nor ideological core, and because of that they think everyone else must be playing the same cynical game for "the clicks".

Feeling the same. It's entertaining, but what meaningful outcome is even possible? Dum-dums will keep pouring money and support into both. There won't be any split in base.

One of the things you need to understand is the "Mars" nonsense is just an excellent con, because the launch window only comes every 2 years. Which is long enough to churn new investors/believers. If he were serious: he'd invest in actual infrastructure to maintain and sustain life. He won't.

The Internet of Things was a horrible idea, and every executive and finance bro who pushed for "greater connectivity" as a means of justifying inflated prices needs to be marched to a very specific device with a French name.

I'm just looking forward to conservatives trying to thread this needle. In particular: Tim Pool was trying to paint Qatar as having outsized influence in liberal/center-left politics. So this will make me happy watching him squirm.

Just think... if we had a better progressive taxation system, our lives wouldn't be ruined by the Netscape Navigator guys.
*even though we all love Netscape Navigator and use it all the time, and it's very relevant technology today*

The stupid thing is: computers are not going to fare any better in extreme climate environments. All the infrastructure to even maintain the integrity of the data of this fantasy world still requires the servers to have access to uninterrupted power, and for it not to get too hot or be underwater.

At its core: Libertarianism is just rebadged feudalism. I'm certain a lot of people get distracted by some of the aesthetic flourishes about "freedom of association", or whatever--but the natural end result is a CEO/King/Emperor enslaving a population for their own personal benefit.

Nothing is ever truly over. What we're living through is the culmination of almost 200 years' worth of Lost Cause Confederate nonsense that was allowed to grow unchecked. Does that mean it will take another 100+ years to disentangle? I hope not, but be prepared for this dark chapter to outlive us.
