So I’m kinda doing my dream job now. The stuff I’m currently doing on the games I’m involved with and the book content I’m writing is the work I’ve always wanted to do. I’ve got enough of it that’s become pretty much a full time gig. I can’t wait for y’all to see what we’ve been cooking, too.

This is such a good joke.

Hadn’t heard of people doing a “Tate Check” before, but it seems like it’s working exactly as intended…

It's no problem to sing for my supper if I really like the tune. If you want some media-ready assets, or just a fun bit of art, consider feeding the panda! One thing I didn't mention in the ad: lewd/NSFW requests are welcome, but depending on complexity, they *may* affect the listed price.

Kinda sucks that I’m not very excited for the Switch 2 because Nintendo used it to jack up the price of games. The Switch is one of my favorite machines ever. The Switch 2 is the harbinger of a shitty new normal.

Whatever it is, this is my favourite sport.

This broke my heart into a million pieces and set my soul on fire with white hot rage. Holy shit. This shit is pure evil. I’m beside myself.

This week's video is just a big fun rant about those games that won't shut the fuck up - chatty NPCs and repetitive party members yammering on and on, over and over, mercilessly torturing the ears. Good times! youtu.be/Ucv_8AaDVDw

a company going into liquidation is one thing but if the same principals are reacquiring their own company while conveniently claiming they now own all the existing assets but none of the liabilities, that's just a scam

How is it a bad thing if the movie theater ceiling falls on you and you don't die? If it happens when you're watching Final Destination. You'll never sleep right again.

Here's a lesson for you all in "wait what do you mean rules won't protect me" and moreover in basic empathy: You can do everything right, sign a contract, cover your ass, and still be completely screwed over. Taking them to court likely won't even begin to make you whole. It's not a moral failing.

Now heard a few behind the scenes horror stories - I think it's everyone's duty to make sure Boundless collapses HARD. They're clearly not interested in old money going back to authors (a fucking payment plan!), they only want your new money. Don't give it to them. Authors, don't go with them.

Podquisition (and related content) has relocated. If you don't use Soundcloud to listen, you hopefully didn't notice. If you aren't seeing a new episode this week, this is why. on.soundcloud.com/CcVEFJ4oQ6l9...

unions: they get the job done

What I've learned since Trump took office again is that doing business with the United States government isn't worth the hassle because they can simply cancel your contract and any money you've already spent on the project goes up in flames.

Time to post it again.

It’s really comforting that as food skyrockets in price, your neighbors are disappeared by masked goons, and people die en masse of preventable illness, Republicans and Democrats can come together and say: fuck this one trans teenager in particular for trying to run track with her friends

Remember: It genuinely doesn't matter how creatively involved Rowling is in that HBO show. She still gets a percentage of every single penny of profit made from that project and every HP project ever made. And she proudly uses her wealth to hurt trans people.

this is the way

Any time a sweaty white guy starts insisting he shouldn’t need to get consent, they’re in the wrong side of history.

This week's video is about the imminent $80 price tag for "AAA" videogames, and how a CEO's "mistaken" turn of phrase was really an admission of how publishers see their fans - as a resource, abusable to their active detriment. youtu.be/GBBYn4hi3wQ

Exactly how many talks, policy papers, interviews, and reports do you think are out there warning about precisely this likelihood? Because I know it's a lot more than a few. "‘We Acted Too Quickly’: Over Half of Companies Regret AI-Driven Layoffs, Report Finds" www.techrepublic.com/article/news...

Dear Mr. Clegg I have started a business, selling the contents of your house I knew when I launched I did not have legal access your house Without this access my company will not be profitable Others have told me I have a flawed business model, but I disagree Please advise how I should proceed

as rotten as I think the US usually is, it's nothing compared to this. there is no reforming this

"In an attempt to protect herself, Grass closed her eyes and fell to the ground, which led to the two males stomping on her head, causing her to become unconscious, she said." Repeatedly stomping on someone's head should be attempted murder. abcnews.go.com/US/woman-sev...

If you weren't aware there's an entire subgenre of sci-fi built around the idea that compared to the rest of life in the universe, *humans* are the scary motherfucking predator/xenomorph/Klingon lifeforms and sometimes it's just fucking fabulous.

Hundreds of billions spent, irreparable environmental harm done, and AI cultists haven't presented a single example of AI improving games. It's always "Look at this pre-made demo and infer how quickly you might be able to make unsettling, inferior replicas! Someday! It will work soon, trust us bro!"

"With him on board we’re gonna get so many people’s art to put in the game and now we don’t even need to pay anyone other than him. With the money we’re saving on artists thanks to his expertise, we’ll be able to implement an even more complex microtransaction system.”
