We weren’t that good against Ipswich and beating Man Utd isn’t that much of an achievement currently. We had been one of the best footballing sides to watch, but Bournemouth, Forest, Fulham and Brentford have overtaken us in that regard this season in my opinion.

The main comparison is vulnerability on the counter attack. Started the season better than expected but other teams have worked us out now and we can concede a break away goal in an instant. Since Wolves and Leicester, we seem to have inherited the fear factor that other teams had when playing us.

Read it again. It says coaching a team playing Brighton, all the players you mention play for Forest, a team I said it beginning of the season to my football friends who I thought would be the surprise package. We have a massive weakness and it’s being exploited.

I don’t usually post knee-jerk reactions to disappointing results. But I still can’t get my head around it.
To have only 1 midfielder, a teenager, first game back after months out, having only a handful of games experience in that position, against a top 3 counter attacking team.

Why would you play with one midfielder against arguably the best counter attacking team in the league? It got exactly what it deserved. We’ve gone from a team playing with swagger to one that overloads ineffective areas of the pitch with headless chickens.

Yes, it was meant with a sense of irony. It’s crazy going away to a team that are arguably the best at counter attacking with one midfielder just coming back from months out. Was asking for trouble.

They do have an advantage though because they have a midfield.

We sure need to score, be amazed if we keep a clean sheet with that team. Would be great for us to get a bit of luck injury wise to enable the same team to play 3 games running and see where that takes us.

Hmm. A talented young player we invested heavily in and just from a few glimpses you can tell he has bags of potential. ‘Brighton not being the right environment’ maybe suggests he doesn’t fit with the club’s ethics and culture, doubt they’d give up so quickly because of poor positioning. #bhafc

It makes the FA Cup semi-final defeat on penalties even more painful. Deserved to win that one as well. But 6 wins out of 7 in the league sure does make up for it. 😊

What’s the latest on Olivier Boscagli? That seems to have gone very quiet. Are the club hoping to get him on a free in the summer, or have they moved on to other targets now? Also was there any truth in Reis? If so I’d guess we are still looking at a younger centre back for the future.

Are we just incredibly unlucky, or is the training too intense for young players still developing and older players in the twilight of their careers?
Mac Allister, Caicedo and Gross were hardly ever injured. #BHAFC

Are you able to bench Mitoma?

No idea but would say 10 as well. He doesn’t seem to be on same wavelength as Pedro.
Gross seemed to be getting his best out of him before his big injury last season. I wonder if he’d be better alongside a Welbeck/Ferguson type of Player 🤷♂️
Don’t think it helped Enciso not having pre season with us

Enciso needs games in a settled side, he’s such a talent, but will he get them in this squad? So many talented players, but not playing regularly enough to hit top form, injuries haven’t helped. Now Gross has gone, we need a Veltman/Dunk/Welbeck type in the middle to knit it all together. #BHAFC

Will do, only had time for a snippet so far.

We have an underdog mentality because of our history, and always tend to over perform against top sides and under perform against lesser ones. The crowd are more up for the big games and more nervous for the so called easier ones. So as a club, we all need to improve our mentality, me included.

People are less angry on here. The head-loss after the second 2-0 lead collapse was mild here compared to the Twitter reaction to someone misplacing a pass in first half. Will take a while to catch up, but less stress, less bots, and no Musk, so what’s not to like. Twitter is eX for me now.

We are so much better with Veltman in the side, has know how that’s crucial for a young side. Lamptey is an exciting talent but is prone to defensive errors, loses the ball breaking from defence. Thought Verbruggen had to deal with difficult back passes, including the one that led to the first goal.

Bit surprised Enciso hasn’t even made the bench.

Who knows if there’s any truth to this rumour but doubt Tony Bloom would be interested in anyone who’s after assurances before they’ve joined. If the club think a loan is best for the development of the player & it benefits the club that’s what will happen. Also, Hurzeler won’t want a bloated squad.

There have been several recently, but being behind the goal for the Jimmy Case free kick in the ‘83 semifinal v Sheff Wed was pretty special.

Could be due to getting used to Hurzeler’s tactics, but most games this season have definitely been the proverbial game of two halves. If we can start performing well in both halves, will be exciting to see where it can take us.

I’m guilty of being so invested in how well or not so well my own teams players are doing that I only tend to notice the other team’s when they shine. Last season Odegaard was immense. Last night I could see what a special talent Southampton have in Dibling. Hide him from Boehly is my advice.

It’ll all be OK if we trust the process because we’ve got big balls and the boys gave their all. After half a century of unexpected highs as the underdog, and expected lows against the underdog, I suppose we can look at last night as a point gained. Champions League spot after a third of the season!

We got lucky with the offside goal but agree, based on Baleba being suspended, and we missed his energy, Downes should’ve been off. The Prem has the best coaches and the best players from all over the world, so why not referees as well, rather than the awful inconsistency we see week in week out!

It seems crazy to not bring Dunk straight back in, but if you take an opportunity when presented, which I believe Igor has, then you should be rewarded. Also gives us the opportunity to re-introduce Dunk gradually, he’s played a lot of games last five years.

Welcome along. Think this platform fits far better with the ethos of our club.

Bournemouth are a bit like us, recently they have beaten Man City and Arsenal, drawn with Villa, and lost to Brentford and Leicester, both away though. Tough game, 2-2 I reckon, and would be happy with that.

Knowing the mighty seagulls as well as I do, and based on the fact the are mostly teams towards the bottom of the table, this could be our toughest run of games this season!

His career goal reel is going to be something else to look back on. He needs a run of games to show consistency, but can’t see him getting that for a while.
