I remember paying $50 for an Atari game in 1985. Adjusted for inflation that's twice the price of a modern AAA game!

This is basically my experience -- I like the basic gameplay loop but crafting forces me through the loop so many times it becomes unpleasant.

Well. You want the chips to be well-traveled. You'd feel silly saying "ahoy" to a chip that hasn't been on a long sea voyage.

Also, pretty hypocritical for a guy who kills any attempt to link away from his own site...

A book club I'm in recently read a book on business ethics which had a similar scenario. While listing pros and cons the author put "really want to go" in the pro column, despite that not being a moral or ethical consideration at all. Which said a lot more about him than about ethics.

Hey. If the John Birch Society can be built with the money made off Sugar Daddies and Junior Mints, anything is possible.

And yet, so charming and good-natured you can see why Poirot keeps him around in spite of being dumber than a bag of hammers.

(All will be forgiven if they come back from commercial and he plays "Her Majesty.")

It wants to be funny so badly but is made by folks with no sense of comedic timing, and jokes that have been blunteed by a committee of writers. Also, there's no straight man.

Arrgh I have been thinking about this all night. I can visualize the scene in my head. And I cannot remember what movie it is for the life of me!

For some reason I have a real love for those weird "Jonathan Harkness" issues of FF. Are they the best? No. But I can think of a lot worse. They're solid FF stories.

Bring 'em back, I say. If nothing else give me the ice skating version of Gymkata, where every fight area also conveniently happens to be a skating rink.

And bear in mind if you don't buy a ticket, I will make it my mission in life to find you at your next party. Believe me, you don't want that.

2) Register for the conference (using the code JACKALOPE to take 10% off) and get the digest-sized version, and do whatever you want with the remaining 95% of your day. I know which option I'd chose!

It's a fascinating story, but there's only two ways to hear it: 1) Get cornered by me at a party and hear the whole story, which will take hours once you include all the weird digressions and side stories, and guarantees you will have a spectacularly dull night where you talk to no one else.

I play D&D with someone who has been playing since the white box days... and someone has to walk them through every roll.

God knows I've run into the issue of not being able to tab back to fix an error, because some dumb script says "this is non-empty, kick 'em to the next box"
