It’s so frustrating when broadcasters seem to care more about the feelings of oppressors rather than the reality on the ground

I’m pretty sure JT won the last election and lost the popular vote

I don’t know what people were expecting lol, dude is a central banker.
The era of Progressive liberals is probably dead. Now it’s time for a real workers party to take the place of the current NDP.
I would really prefer Carney to Pierre though so I hope he doesn’t blow it too bad.

I was panicking also when Carney was chosen. But attacks against him don’t seem to be landing to normies who don’t pay much attention.
I’ve been talking to lots of people who know little about politics and they all LOVE Carney, which was surprising.
But also eased my nerves a bit.

They also just can’t think for themselves at all.
The amount of low quality images with lame talking points again and again and again

Wait, you think @steveboots.bsky.social is right wing?
Dude is a full on socialist. Just because he disagrees with the Liberals doesn’t make him a conservative shill

We likely disagree on a few things, but we can certainly agree on this. 💪

My feeling exactly, I’m gonna be trying to push Carney hard to the left when he gets into office though.

Yeah Quebec does hold a lot of cards in this election. As it does every election.
The other thing I’m thinking is the GTA suburbs, can Carney sway the wealthy homeowners in Etobicoke and Oakville that he will be better on the economy (my guess is yes)

I appreciate we don't have 2 year cycles like our southern neighbors.
But one month? In the middle of winter? Come on...

One can dream.
We genuinely need candidates to be streaming on Youtube and Twitch before they run. Its really hard to get your name out there when election cycles are a month long.

My only issue is that Leftist policies are really popular in Canada. I think Carney could win this election by a landslide if he announced some more "sound-bitey" progressive policies that would take the air out of the NDP's camp.

Dude I know, I still remember the day in 2020 when all of the Dems backed out one by one endorsing Biden.
Klobuchar
Warren
Bloomberg
Buttigieg
Never forget

The issue is never the voters though. Its always the leaders. Neither the Liberals nor the NDP could get someone interesting enough to vote for. (Talking as someone who voted for a Liberal)

Overall I'm happy with Canadian politics, I think our system is a lot better than the US (still room for improvement).
And I will very likely be voting Liberal in the election. But I would like to see Carney pushed to the left and not the other way around.

lmao he blocked me.. wonder why the dems lost.. Curious

The issue is money is used to fight against leftist policies. This is a much bigger problem in the US then in Canada tho mind you.
Also the Canadian Liberals are to the left of the Dems, so thats good I guess.
comment in response to

I'm talking specifically about issues. Health Care, Child care, Minimum wage increases, getting money out of politics etc.
The issues themselves are very popular, the right has just done a really good job of branding

Maybe make an effort to think one step further?
Trump has a voter base that sticks very close to 47% in perpetuity.
ALL the dems had to do is beat that number. And they couldn't.
Why do you think that is? Maybe its because they pushed Bill Clinton and Liz Cheyney out and thought that was good

HAHAH wowowowow.
You know there is another way? Be an actual popular party that doesnt take billions of dollars from Aipac
But nooo Its the left that is wrong
comment in response to

Centrist Neoliberalism is the reason we have Trump.
It doesnt work, and the right has used the anger its caused to create a movement that is going to blow up the world.
Where as there is a perfectly good alternative that is MORE popular, but Billionaires don't like it so...

The dems lost because they couldn't get their base excited enough to actually get out and vote.
Populist Leftist rhetoric is extremely popular both here and in the states. And the fact that politicians are scared of being called socialists is insane.
Look at Bernie rn for a prime example

He seems like he would be a good leader even if I disagree with some of his stances.

I’ve been loving the outrage over someone winning an election so handily.
They can’t comprehend winning something
