It makes perfect sense for the exact reason how the game played out. Stop on that last drive and a td wins it. And even if you don’t get a stop you have some margin for error where that fg by OSU only makes it an 8 pt game. It was the right call.

I agree on the players and them tanking which is why I expect the coaching staff to do it. I would if pulled Milton after the 2nd td. I would have switched to soft zone calls on D. Lots more draws and fewer passes on O. This is on the coaches. And the other reply hits on the draft pick aspect.

An inexperienced coach wasn’t allowed to hire his play caller. AVP is pure Wolf as is the roster and they’re both terrible. Granted the D has been very bad too but offensively it is, and was then, clear Mayo’s on the outside looking in.

I doubt it’s their pride. It’s their wallet. They are extremely cheap. This dearth of talent is down to them refusing to pay. I fear any coach they bring in will suffer from it.

I can def see letting wolf go and van pelt. But I feel it is unrealistic to expect mayo, especially when it’s clear he has no roster control, to turn this all around in a season. Lots of the penalties come down to lack of skill, holding, etc. Need OL and WRs.

This same team was 4-13 last yr with arguably the greatest coach ever. They have an extreme dearth of talent especially at OL and WR.
