Scissors aren’t a natural item to wash, so when I use the kitchen scissors for something non-kitchen and borderline gross I go through an internal wash debate. They definitely get a rinse when I trim the hair around my dog’s rectum.

He doesn’t have to be right to agree that having too much wealth is selfish and bad for the country.

He’s a retired professor of the Naval War College. That’s not a 10 cent word for him and it’s the right word. I have no opinion on ‘drop’.

Trump’s response would be, of course he’s a dictator, all strong leaders are dictators.

Ugh oh someone’s getting fired at the Post. The headline was supposed to be THIS IS A DICTATOR?

So I shouldn’t credit this response: Yes, Kumail Nanjiani is considered a good actor who enjoys playing complicated characters.

Not when I do it. Best I got was a 50/50 chance of falling over. The most humiliating of bike accidents.

Do you think there is a difference between 2 people having an in person conversation and 2 people on a zoom call. The zoom call bugs me but perhaps I’m just old.

The trolling says something about how little import they put in the other two branches, but yes the media can’t jump at this BS.

States rights was one a pillar of the Republican platform. Was that always a ruse or did the Republican’s once see value in limited federal power?

Is it wrong that I hope Europe goes all in on this war and Russia and the United States both lose? In this dream scenario it is a bloodless war.

I watched that too. Mesmerizing. I could have used a lighter touch on the musical accompaniment.

Bannon, a syphilitic chancre, is a citizen who doesn’t deserve to be. He is the architect of the blitzkrieg of destruction being implemented by Elon and Trump. He’s also not very attractive.

These guys blew by needing billions ago. They are driven by an empty hole of desire.

I generally agree with your position. I’ve often thought that the policing of language left even those of good intention feeling shamed. However, your framing of it as an “overplayed hand” doesn’t sit well. The people I know on the left may have gone too far but they were earnest and well meaning.

I’m not sure that history follows the adage, “that which does not kill a society makes the society stronger.” Hitchens may have touched on this in Mortality.

I’m not sure either of these philosophies were ever a sure fire road to financial security. These days is it possible to pick a boring career that will survive the shifting sands of AI?

If you think this matters to his base you are thinking of the old Republican Party. This was obvious when Trump attacked POW and the Republican Party said yeah we’re good with that.

Anyone who thinks he is some sort of engineering genius consider the hyperloop, an idea so stupid and ill conceived that it was abandoned in 1799. And yet, Elon dumped his and other peoples’ money into a ridiculous reboot. This is the person who is telling the government how not to waste money.

Trump is ceding US influence around the globe. We are Mr. Irrelevant. Our best hope is that we unexpectedly become a Super Bowl winning quarterback for the Dallas cowboys. Not likely.

The idea that masculinity is at some inflection point is ridiculous. The ideal of masculinity has changed through out American history and the idea that we have to return to some masculine ideal is bs. MAGA sees masculinity as denial of humanity.
