Yep, loved lockdowns, spent so much more time with our late teen kids. Not sure they would necessarily agree though.

The cost of living “crisis” was caused by corporations gouging to recoup profits lost during the pandemic. I despair some times for Australia and how people are willing to vote against their own best interest and are swayed by culture war BS.

I received this rely today. I suggest that this will be their standard reply to any enquiries.

This book should be mandatory reading for every public servant and for that matter businesses that deal with human beings. The personal stories about suicides in the book weigh on my mind. Thank you for telling their stories.

Just read your book. Congratulations, a masterpiece of research and communication. I truely had no idea how bad it was. That APS4 that wrote to the secretary is a hero. Having said that I was part of the APS at the time (not DHS) and can see how desire to please ministers over all else can occur.

This is a tragic wake up call to all Australians that this could be us. Real action on climate change is required now.

Agree, these guys seem too crazy even for One Nation to support. LOL.

I would love to know if there is any Advance Australia, IPA or One Nation money flowing to these fringe groups. These guys seem particularly nuts. Might stop by for a laugh.

The issue though is how do progressive left of centre parties communicate their message to the "un-eductated". The inability of parties like the Democrats to counter the Murdoch led propaganda to working class voters needs to be addressed rather than simply calling these people "dumb".

Yes, not only that I have enough solar on the roof to power the house and run an electric car. Nuclear is simply not needed and a massive distraction. Media however is playing horse race politics as usual.

Also can’t beat Kate’s version of this great song youtu.be/PLp2DfsW5Cw?...
comment in response to post
Absolutely correct, give away our strategic renewable energy advantage to every country that has to install nuclear because they have no other viable options. Madness

Through the lack of any real journalists in Australia, Murdoch protecting his oil and gas interests, and commercial news networks giving him a free ride whilst bagging the ALP. The ABC not a lot better.

As someone who owns their home, is debt free and is earning interest on savings, high interest rates are actually fuelling my spending. It is however crushing my kids. This has been a massive fail by the RBA. Rates should be cut now.

My favourite saying. Love your additional phase.

Also that cooked publication the Cairns Post is also spreading the misiformation. If only we had something like, I don't know, misinformation laws. Oh wait.

A bunch of over exited freedom warriors (crazy QLD uncle and aunt types) think that this is government tyranny and are spreading misinformation on FB and Telegram.

Yep, same mob that believe in Chemtrails, lizard people in tunnels, the vaccine is a bioweapon have adopted fire ant eradication as their latest cause.

What I don’t want is more Vox pops with the uninformed man on the street. I know I sound like a snob.

Political reporting has become a fact free area. Claims are made and never challenged or investigated. Would like to see actual subject matter experts dissect a claim. Like a policy fact check. Needs to be short and easily communicated, not a 20 minute academic discussion.

Wow an echo chamber with one person in it. Innovative.

Agree, it was the same with a carbon trading scheme. They think that perfection can be achieved in politics. Politics is the art of the possible and advancement in increments.

The cynic in me says that they would be happy with an LNP government so long at they win a couple of inner city seats off the ALP.

I don't mind the Greens opposing policies, however I sometimes question their judgement. Do they want to be activists or actually implement policy. They seem to be one of the LNP key assets at the moment.
