Just like Smith has slow walked the by-election so Nenshi as opposition leader could run for a seat, I expect Carney will also slow walk this call for a by election. If Diotte does step down then the by election would have to be called in a specific time frame.

CPC strongly courted the union vote and the unions have been moving away from progressive policies for years now.

Scamming by enabling the firehose of misinformation and conspiracy theories - absolutely. Messing with the ballots, scrutineers and counting? no. Parliamentary elections are harder to rig because of the seat count issue plus elections canada runs a very tight ship

Between the Oilers game last night and today's election - I am a hot mess of anxiety. Yes I voted. My riding is a 'bell weather' riding and goddamn.....

Oh, DJT has made deals alright. Personal deals not nation-to-nation deals. He's getting kickbacks, saying he is making deals (with the assumption being the deal are with other nation states) but they are in reality, deals that benefit him personally

Quebec entered Confederation on completely different terms than Alberta did. You cannot compare apples to apples on this one.

you are not wrong. The cities are progressive and the rural vote gets more weight due to gerrymandering. Smith is only premier because of a handful of calgary ridings that went UCP by small amounts - like less than a 1000 votes sometimes
