“Accidental” PhD Physicist who knows where his towel is. Connoisseur of the absurd. Too willing to engage polite conversations, but my sarcasm gets in the way.

Perhaps this sort of thing is why he’s bankrupted so many’s businesses?

When everyone believes that everyone else is lying, they’re all conspiring against you.

There needs to be a “cringe” button. It feels a little odd to “heart” stuff like this

Would love to see it, but I’ve my doubts. :/

I agree that any iota of sand in the gears here is better than nothing. I’m just griping about progress that’s long overdue.

They don’t want a conversation, @mcuban.bsky.social, they want **compensation**.

Wait just a second. Did someone just use all caps in an appropriate manner?!? Well done @chrislhayes.bsky.social!

Thank you for reposting this @georgetakei.bsky.social. As a fan of Lynch’s work, this is a heartwarming and “ugly cry” worthy tribute to a truly amazing artist.

Virginia passed their ratification in January of 2020. Biden had the duration of his entire administration to make this move. One has to wonder how important it actually was to him.

The interaction of art, artist, and audience is vital. The effort put into appreciating it is essential. This individual made some of the best art I struggled to understand. RIP, genius.

Indeed, both acts can be reprehensible. I find it disturbing that people cannot process this fact.

Won’t you think of all the poor millionaires and billionaires, @georgetakei.bsky.social? For shame! 😂

Sure! Because like @mcuban.bsky.social said, he didn’t need that much more f-ing money!

I used to sit on a lawn chair in my parent’s garage. Nothing quite like the sounds and smells of a summer rainstorm… tepid but humid air, slightly cool, but only if you move. Perfect zen, long before I had words to describe how exquisite this memory could be.
Thanks for this, PFT!

Truly wonderful when people can have a substantive conversation without name calling. Somehow we’re putting the “social” back in social media.
Hopefully we get to be the change we want to see. 🤞

This isn’t going to solve the immigration or fentanyl issue, and he’s going to make the US consumer pay for it!
Is it evil, or a special type of stupid we’re dealing with here?

No need to buy new books, just read old ones. 1984, Fahrenheit 451, Brave New World, etc. The problem is they’re supposed to be cautionary tales, not aspirational guides. “Ignorance is strength,” is not supposed to be taken literally, even if it is in literature.

I refuse to pity someone whose face was just eaten by the leopard.
Nope.

He’s threatening to force companies to charge US consumers more and ruin our economy unless other countries drop the flow of drugs and undocumented immigrants?
Sounds like the beatings of US consumers will continue until morale improves!

Had this happen to me when I thought I was done. All the characterization equipment had died or run out of liquid helium. Then my PI comes to me with another combinatoric synthesis study to do. Instead, I handed him the 1st draft of my dissertation. You’ll get there!

Excellent headline. Too many “flying pigs study breaks Physics!” articles out there. Science is pleased when it’s verifiable and ecstatic when it gets to explore something new. The unknown is where the excitement is. It is not a threat to my existence!
