Early Years Help Required Is there anyone who wouldn’t mind me DMing them for some support and advice with EY planning please?

Another great article from Adam. “Too often, school leaders assume that all that’s required is to “say the thing” or “write the thing.” To have done an inset on the thing or to have written a policy about the thing and magically the thing is now in play.”

“Planning is a teacher thinking about the material and how best this can be taught to a particular real life flesh-and-blood class. AI cannot do this.” Timely read in the same week my district sent me the suggestion that I use A/I to “help” me plan.

Sorry if this is weird, but if you're heading back from mat leave and you're a bit nervous about it, please feel free to message me. I went back to work when my little boy was five months old and moved into SLT. It was a really lonely time, so I'd like to help if you're in the same boat! #UKEd

Right, so who's up for super-nerdy Teaching & Learning chat? Where my people at?

Please repost: what are the top five challenges facing women in the sector?

Whilst working on maters to support staff I am reminded this of how difficult I find putting into words what effective practice looks like and the reasoning behind strategies. Blogs, threads and books are a real aid to me. So thank you and keep ‘em coming!

ICYMI As we head back to schools, a short(ish) post on why line management is one of the most powerful developmental tools we have to drive improvement- and how to maximise that time:

‘Familiarity is deceptive. Learners often mistake this feeling of recognition for an assumed level of mastery. This deception is problematic because recognition does not equate to application.‘ Brilliant from @morgsedu.bsky.social

Just posted new blog on Bluesky and not (yet) on Twitter. Be interesting to see engagement. Will I fold and put it on Twitter too? Please help me avoid the temptation by reposting here! primarytimery.com/2024/08/25/o...

Thanks to @helenharden.bsky.social I have my bedtime reading sorted for the next couple of weeks. Now looking for audiobook fiction recommendations from you lovely people.

🚨I have a new copy of The Power of Teams to giveaway to one person who would find it useful! Please like this message (assuming I can track these on BS!) if you’re interested and I’ll choose someone at random on Thursday, then post out

Giving this a one week trial. Very much up for getting off the Musk platform! Give me a follow and a repost!

I’ve been listening to various podcasts about Robert Hooke. A remarkable character that I’d like to know more about. Can anyone recommend any books about the man himself or about the extraordinary things happening in the scientific world during his time?

It is very early days but this platform feels much more like my experience of the other place before it all went sour. Great to see so many familiar good people on here. Been enjoying reading some of the reposted blogs. Thanks lovely people.

In honour of this place being much more of what edutwt was more about, here’s an old blog post of mine with various English resources linked that I’ve shared at various points in the happier past! defyingstarsteaching.wordpress.com/2020/08/23/e...

I don’t want to go back to the bad place so if you’re part of the edu-exodus & looking for people to follow, I’m going to start a little thread of some familiar faces from edutwitter already posting here. Please tag people to this thread as I know it’s tricky to get started when you first join.👇🏼

"The curriculum as progression model" is something banded around now because of Ofsted, but what did Christine C and I first mean by the idea? Probably not that most have taken it to mean... clioetcetera.com/2020/02/08/w...

1. I'm just going to share two things I've written on here as a start. They're about how I see inclusion. This is the problem.. Schools are set up to mainly serve the interests of those who find learning already easy. bennewmark.wordpress.com/2023/04/29/w...
