I hiked the AT, rode the Tour Divide, and paddled the Mississippi. I spend the rest of my time trying to save democracy.

Do you have anything further south coming up? A chance to ask questions would be awesome.

My sister has one named JC and is on the counter all the time.

IBEW Local 8 is centered in Toledo, OH. Their starting apprentice wages for residential is $13.64. I'm pretty sure it was below $12 when I looked not long ago.

I ran away and hiked the AT.

I've never lived in the south, so I'll stay out of that one, but I can't think of anything irritating in film about the Midwest. To me that's just a trope played up by the right to cast us as victims. The thing that makes me mad is the term "Rust Belt", which I only ever hear from journalists.

Does the onion ever do articles on twitter that mock Bluesky as dying because it's not welcoming enough to certain types of horrible people? Could by a good recruitment tool for people who also hate those people.

That's higher than the local IBEW starting wages here

Funny enough, that's the main thing Cuomo and I have in common: we don't live in NYC.

I still can't believe at the parade they played CCR's Fortunate Son, a song about rejecting flag-waving nepo babies who sent poor kids to die.

Exactly. The funniest is when it's a "Gift" article and I'm like "bro, that is not what a gift is".

I know this is a NYC specific issue, but I wish everyone outside of the city would collectively agree that the NYT is trash and to link pretty much any other news source when reasonably possible. Power brokers should give interviews/exclusives to other papers instead.

Haha, well I'm in the same boat so I figured I'd ask.

A radical insurgency we could count on.

Most outages are pretty short though, it ends up being only a small part of their annual workload. Plus, the drug testing and background checks keep a bunch of locals off those jobs anyway, forcing them to use travelers. I heard not a peep when our plant switched 18->24.

There is something particularly offensive about choosing a sponsor that preys on young military guys to scam them out of money. I've laughed about most of the parade stuff, but the coinbase thing gets me a bit heated.

Is the black mask a pop culture reference or is it a cool thing she came up with?

I think @stellerarts.com would appreciate

Henceforth, Ben & Jerry's products shall be known as "supplements".

Hmm... Now I really want some cake.

I've only ever driven through that area (and on rare occasion). Let me know if you recommend a solid local place if I ever get a chance.

I saw a real fox on a bike ride today and he was booking it. They are not common to see near me.

The asshole still had to wait for like 20-30 cars before turning left.

You Lenawee peeps really turn out! I am constantly impressed by you guys.

Lael behind her record pace and appears to be camping with Nathalie Baillon. Two-time female winner Alexandera Houchin is the 3rd place woman about 35 miles behind them. 3 total riders ahead of the course record pace (Justinas Leivika '24), with 3 more neck and neck with it. Weather must be good.

I'm curious how many miles you get on a set of tires, and do the front/back wear evenly?

Have you found good pizza in OH? It's one of the states I've consistently had bad luck.

Cuomo going full gutter racist to be mayor of a city he doesn't even like or live in.

I have so little faith in civil engineers and it's mostly related to buildings. They can really freak me out if I think about them too much.

I got my bike fixed there and it was a pretty awesome bike shop.

The number of people that sprayed themselves from the handlebars the year I rode was pretty funny. Hope Josh doesn't do that, lol. Anyway, checked on him and he's still going at 10:00 PM local, getting ~120 miles in the first 12 hours and right in the middle of the pack. Very respectable pace!

Looks like Lael Wilcox, the Women's record holder, is the leading woman and about 30 miles behind the front of the pack. She has held the record since 2015 when she biked from Alaska to the start of the race, won the race, then did an ITT the other way even faster. Total miles around 8k I think.

If you don't know, the Tour Divide is a 2700 mile unpaved, self-supported bike race along the spine of the Rockies. It's a single stage, no sleep requirements. It starts in Banff, AB (Canada) and ends at the US/Mexican border in Antelope Wells, NM.

The least you could do here is point out why Iran feels free to enrich uranium, which is that Trump ripped up the Iran nuclear deal to the delight of Israelis.

I just wanted to say thanks for not voting for that resolution that thanked ICE.

The MI GOP are such clowns and I hope they get smoked in the next election (especially crazy nurse Jaime).

Can you call Elissa Slotkin and Gary Peters and tell them to stand up for us?
