It's not that I believe this article, in fact I think that support for the cleanup is growing like crazy, but it's not about polls anyway. It's about *making America great again*, which you don't understand or support.

This is a complete and total lie. Of Musk's companies, Tesla is the only one that's public and its stock price is about the same as it was at the election. You don't know what the values of his other companies are and the idea that he needs to run DOGE to make more money is farcical.

There's also building great companies. Teslas are fantastic cars and they've gotten millions of polluting gas guzzlers off the road that would still be there without Musk making it happen (ask his employees). You should thank him.

It's likely that the Trump administration will help simplify the taxes by cutting all the social engineering and corporate loopholes so that's a reasonable thing to do.

Another lie. Musk has the record for paying the most income tax of any individual in the history of the United States. Trump has paid tremendous amounts of tax as well.

I sympathize. No one manages money the way I think I would in their circumstance.

Musk has made his money honestly building businesses and is cleaning up government fraud, waste and abuse for free.

Maybe she's right. It doesn't sound like the status quo has been very good to her.

Ah, you're a New York Times reader. I hope your paranoia is treatable. If so, we can have a more rational discussion.

No FAA safety personnel were fired, Chuck is blaming an incident in Canada on Trump and the comments just show that either people are still brainwashed or what few BlueSky commenters are here are bots.

With your millions that you have taken with your corrupt money laundering and skimming, I think you can afford to avoid paying a few more dollars when you overdraw your checking account. You spend a lot more of other people's money than your own anyway.

The new administration is abolishing discrimination in government hiring based on gender, not "making them invisible". You're just making things up to foster hatred.

Elizabeth Warren is one of the last people to be qualified to lecture anyone about racism. She's a greedy, corrupt phony who has amplified and exploited poor race relations to steal millions of dollars and power that she doesn't deserve. Pow wow chow.

"Buyer beware" works much better than the corrupt nanny state. Learn about the 2008 housing bubble debacle that cost low and middle-class Americans billions - all because of government programs created by economic and political fools like Senator Warren.

There is a difference between telling you not to do bad things, which I did, and attacking your character, which I didn't do. Don't take it personally. Almost everyone understands that the Federal government has very important responsibilities. It's important that it runs well. It's time for audits.

First, I didn't call you a liar, much less your son. You posted a ridiculous claim that NSA employees were told that they can't use 27 words, which is only inflammatory garbage and doesn't help the US Forest Service or your cause. Spreading innuendo on social media is like pouring gasoline on fires.

I take that back. I guess they can't.

I believe that everyone should try to be multi-lingual. English speakers should learn a second language. Non-English speakers should learn English. If they live in England or the U.S., they absolutely should learn and be literate in English.

I agree, but help for the homeless and public schools and that kinda thing are almost completely funded by our communities - as they should be. DOGE is going after the massive Federal fraud, waste and abuse. Our money is much better spent locally.

Yes. So far he's done very well. Pay attention to what they're uncovering. Read everything about New York's prosecution of the convicted felon and you'll know that it was a kangaroo lawfare and won't hold up. If you're not part of the swamp, this cleanup should make you happy.

Corrupt politicians have been fucking the rules for decades at the expense of hard-working Americans. It's time to clean it up. You need to get on the right side.

I like our current President, who not only takes responsibility, but also fixes things and speaks honestly to the public. You could too.

Stop lying (as if you could). He's not an "anti-vaxxer". He's not a danger to Americans, he's just a danger to your dwindling power.
comment in response to

Relax. He's lying to energize his base. Your police force is and has been funded locally while Biden and Congress has been sending billions of dollars to Ukraine. If you join the people who are getting out of the swamp, you'll be much happier.

How much of America's police force is currently funded by Congress?

Learn how our government works. There's no constitutional crisis here. The president can decide to not spend money that Congress has given him the authority to spend. The Supreme Court is the body that would decide he couldn't, not Schumer "grinding the Senate to a halt" - as if he could.

No, he doesn't, and posting in all caps doesn't make it so.

Fight whom? The people Chuck is supposed to fight are trying to fix things like this. Open your eyes. You've been on the wrong side. The Republicans are not the totalitarian fascists you've been taught to hate.

As a liberal, I thought at the time that either Reagan/Bush should be prosecuted for treason, or if they were innocent the should investigate the sources of the lies and prosecute them. But no, NPR and what was the mainstream media were/are happier with innuendo and BS. Wake up.
comment in response to

No. That was debunked back in the 80s. In fact that was a big wake-up for me. For weeks I listened to NPR reports stating that Bush went to Iran to negotiate such a deal. Then they reported that -oh- Bush was never there and just moved on to other slanders. Get the FACTS. NPR lies constantly.

In 1980 I was a 20yo liberal, but I voted for Anderson (3rd party) and Reagan won. I remember what his four years were like. Double-digit inflation, the gas crisis, high unemployment... My mother loved him, but Carter was truly a terrible president. RIP, but let's not forget.
