They also think men won't watch those shows if there isn't a manly dude smashing things, so the walls gotta go

Maybe with the lower right corner of the "r" square? I think the angle on the newer version interrupts the flow. Tough problem though

Roughly speaking all of them I think

Glad you're taking care of yourself!

They’re obviously not, and misandry isn’t real

Hi, I'm yet another trans woman here to tell you that this statement doesn't help us. Regardless of your intentions it is spreading the libel that we're men. Just retract that one paragraph!

and so many are turning around from being asked not to be nasty to lesbians and... being nasty specifically to the nearest lesbian trans women of color and then crying about getting pushback I'm heartbroken but I'm also angry

this shit is breaking my heart. It sucks so so bad how many of my sisters are taking the idea that there are women who aren't interested in men as a personal attack
comment in response to post
That's sure what it looks like

or immediately implying critics are terfs by calling us "goldstars"

These folks were definitely like "why are we talking about this arm so much idgi" during That Scene

This is Gideon's first impression of the dude she was supposedly ogling. Like I knew standards of attractiveness for men are lower but girlies are gettin hot over dour sacks of unhealthy lemons now??
comment in response to post
So a minute ago you were saying she was ogling Protesilaus, and maybe you meant a different character but this is Gideon's first impression of him...

only good thing any pope has ever done
comment in response to post
Yeah, even the "bad" episodes contribute something. Can't skip to the good stuff if you don't have the context that makes it good!
comment in response to post
Buddy you showed up incapable of meaningful discourse
comment in response to post
Maybe you want to be, but if you don't understand the idea of "this class of people oppresses this other class, as a group" you have just so much reading and listening still to do. Which could start now! Instead for some reason you're arguing
comment in response to post
Very curious why you think anyone would want to get involved
comment in response to post
And we’d be relying on an executive class who basically only know how to make money by cutting costs! The last people you should ask to build anything.
comment in response to post
It's exhausting that this is still news to people

i used to refer to my pre-transition self as a shell company lol, just there to redirect people from the truth. I feel like there were parts of me that were meant to do other things that got press ganged into spending all their energy protecting me, but now they can finally rest
comment in response to post
You’re the one arguing about it!

we gotta stop talking about dysphoria, it cedes too much ground to the pathology model. Seems impossible right now but we have to get transness accepted as a positive way of being, not just a cure to a condition
comment in response to post
But *even if that would never have happened,* “I want to transition” is *still* all the reason you need and all the reason I would ask of anyone, if I were so presumptuous as to ask at all, which I am not.

my experience is very similar. even then I’ve had friends go to the same clinics and get worse treatment, and my first doc was overall supportive but still had arbitrary limits on what she’d do. the whole thing is so arbitrary

I’m very grateful to Talia and all the others (including Americans who are more marginalized than me) for helping me see this more clearly
comment in response to post
It’s very silly. One reason we don’t recognize how thoroughly we are propogandized here is that lots of the propaganda is not messages but just structurally built into how our systems operate.
comment in response to post
to you” that if you have the standard set of US brainworms looks like freedom, like you can get what you need if you just negotiate better. And then we go and talk to people from other countries who can better recognize the oppression built into our systems as if our shit is normal and good!
comment in response to post
Even the “better” versions of US trans care are really repressive if you want anything besides not enough E pills and too much spiro, whether that’s better feminizing HRT, T at all, or any surgery. they couch it in these terms of “well you’re *allowed* to have that, we’re just not going to give it
comment in response to post
countries (esp European, esp esp Anglophone) to get *some* care. This makes it easy for us to feel like we just need to keep reforming the system we have instead of questioning if it should exist at all.
comment in response to post
I think Talia’s thread here gets at something really important about how US trans people view our relation to institutions and the medical model of transness and trans care. Because while it does not _comprehensively_ serve our needs, the US regime has made it comparatively easier than many other
comment in response to post
this is to reinforce your point Talia, just to be perfectly clear the “medically necessary” model includes the acknowledgment of medical authority, the best it can do is quibble about how much cissexist opposition is acceptable. but the model inevitably sees some level to be acceptable

as a New York state resident I think it’s a bit of a stretch to say it “works” anywhere in the US even under the standard that point of view uses. you’re lucky even in this “progressive” state (province) to find a provider that is up to the latest WPATH standards, which are ofc gatekeeping dogshit

it would be cute!!

It’s a great clue they take no care in anything they create either. I’ve never written anything of length publicly because I agonize over every word!! because every word matters!!!!
comment in response to post
As a reader I’ve found stream of consciousness type descriptions fairly effective at conveying that sort of thing but it would very definitely be a cool project to lean into it!

you know genAI is a fascist project right? maybe don’t post this slop while attempting to oppose fascism
